Somewhat relevant but I find that if a 'flexible' lip scrapes hard and regularly, it slowly dislodges the other bits it is attached to. For example in my Cruze it definitely affects the front bumper setting leading to gradual misalignment.

However, I'm sure JEEP would have taken it into consideration being a JEEP!

Does the roof rack come as an accessory with the compass? Or are there any after market options for overhead storage for the occasional airport runs?

Also, is there any other use of the roof rail attachment loops?

15 K service update

Total bill 8907

They call it the second free service 15 K interval

Only parts/ consumables are charged

They had charged around 500 for car door lubrication. I had complained of door rattle. But front door pad sound was done under warranty.

Yet to drive after the service. Car was delivered home

The official Mopar roof rack costs in excess of 45k as told to me by the service advisor! I am sure that we will soon get good local options under 15k from local manufacturers. I am also on the lookout and will let you know if I am able to get here in Delhi.

Service cost seems high for a free service. Consumables should ideally be only the oil and oil filter at 15K. Do you have a break up. Also Rs 500 for lubrication is a rip off. These small items should be done free of charge.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

The news is correct as confirmed by the sales manager at Celica last week.As per him,Jeep is hiking prices for the Compass upto around 1L.

I have booked the Petrol AT Limited which is in transit.Should reach around 1st April.Due to the price hike,am getting the amount disbursed in March itself and would then personally inspect the vehicle before it goes for registration.

While the company has started taking the bookings for the Trailhawk, there are no test-drive vehicles of the Diesel Automatic Trailhawk yet. The dealer in my city says that they'd come after the launch and the deliveries of the same would commence in the second half of the year (July-August 2018).

They have edited a few points.
This is the easiest and most effective fix that Jeep-India could do.

The responsiveness of Kevin+Mangesh duo is getting calibrated to the Indian market.

Headlights - Jeep Compass is ok to be a daytime only vehicle because the headlamps meet the ARAI guidelines. 50+ safety features - Headlights and Night time visibility is not one of those. And now Mangesh and team have stated that they won't address it further as these meet ARAI standards

Promised Merchandize - Well, since the website is editable so people be damned. Gifts are anyway a privilege and not a right

Variable service costs across centers - Well, the dealers do need to be rewarded for putting up with them through the bad times. So it is ok to charge INR 800 for cavity lubrication (lol) and 1500 for a 15 minute bulb change; at some service centers while not at others

Extended warranty - They are already on a sticky wicket, with tow hooks breaking and vehicles peeing oil on suspensions and blown seals. I think it is in their best interest to forget about offering the extended warranty

I am still rooting for the success of this remarkable vehicle. But organizational and geographical culture is continuing to adversely impact the full realization of this vehicle's potential.

Jeep Compass : Official Review

Jeep celebrating 4/4. (April the4th)

Source The Times of India.

https://m.timesofindia.com/auto/cars/jeep-announces-special-offer-on-compass-suv/amp_articleshow/63599026.cms

NEW DELHI: Celebrating its International Jeep 4x4 Day (April 4) in India, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced 'Jeep 4x4 Month' which will run from April 4 to 30. The celebration brings a special offer on the company's new SUV model - the Compass.
The scheme encourages new customers who are currently considering or have booked a top-end Limited 4x2 variant to upgrade to the top-end Limited 4x4 variant by paying just Rs. 50,000 more. The actual price difference between the two trims, however, is Rs 1.97 and one can save around Rs 1.47 lakh under this limited period offer.

The company will also run Camp Jeep, a 4x4 driving as well as Jeep brand experience, for potential customers and enthusiasts in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad, this month.
"Our dealer partners are excited to take the Jeep brand engagement with our existing Compass owners to the next level in the Jeep 4x4 Month. They have clearly done a splendid job in the first quarter of this calendar year delivering over 6000 Compass SUVs to new Jeep customers," Flynn added.
The Jeep Compass is available in three trim options in the range - Sport, Longitude and Limited, and is offered in 10 variants with a 2.0-litre turbo diesel and a 1.4-litre turbo petrol multi-air powertrain options, with 4x4 and 4x2 derivatives available in the line-up.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Jeep offers upgrade from the Limited 4x2 to the Limited 4x4 by paying just ₹50,000 more under Jeep 4x4 Month. A month-long campaign on the occasion of The International Jeep 4x4 Day (April 4th) where the customers are encouraged to upgrade from a 4x2 model to a 4x4 one.

If a customer has booked a Longitude 4x2 2.0D (priced at Rs 17.52 lakh), they will have to pay the Rs 1.69 lakh difference between the trim and the Limited 4x2 (costing Rs 19.21 lakh), after which the Rs 50,000 offer can be availed to upgrade further to the Limited 4x4 trim (costing Rs 21.18 lakh). Thus the customers can save up to Rs 1.47 lakh, which is the price difference between the Limited 4x2 and Limited 4x4 variant.
