Luckily didn't have to do any trial & error. I changed the bulbs to Philip's extreme vision and am okay with it. The technician at the service center was telling me that this is the only option, with which people have been okay with, though FCA themselves offer better bulbs at around INR 600.

Not sure if anyone has upgraded to the OEM Bi Xenon headlamp units (which come on the Limited (O) variant) as a whole instead of just changing the bulbs, heard that the unit cost is more than INR 50K. If anyone has, then their feedback of these Xenon units & cost would be helpful to others, since a lot of us have an issue with the headlamp brightness.

I also faced this issue, but unlike others who had an issue which was identified in the console on the right side of the dash board, mine was on the left side of the dashboard. The technician removed the padding on the A pillar and refitted it, post which it was not there for sometime but its slowly starting again now, though not as audible as it was earlier. Will get it checked again at the 15000 kms service, which is due soon.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Did the Jeep trails at Goa. Wonderful experience. After covering a lot of places on and off tarmac across Goa, the off roading trail was set in the wilderness of the netravali sanctuary .( It seems it's the same place where the Jeep compass media drive was organised)
There were around twenty plus cars. They had slightly different tracks for 4x2s and 4x4s. Everyone was happy at the end of the day realising the hidden potentials of their vehicles.
Compass is indeed a capable vehicle. Well behaved on and off the road. Proud to own one

Thanks for the inputs. Had some addl. questions - did you buy in Bangalore? Do they allow for a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and any idea where is their stock yard?

Their stockyard is in Whitefield. They did not allow me to do a PDI at the stock yard, as they were moving their stock yard to the current location at that time.

Thanks will check if they will allow now.

One more question to the community here:
During the test drive, the Sales Rep. specifically called out that the Jeep Compass Diesel Engine (Fiat made) is already BS VI Compliant. Is there any basis for this claim or is just marketing gas?

The Multijet technology is Euro V1 compliant. Tata and Maruti have signed with Fiat for sourcing the same engine for their yet to be release SUVs.

2.0 diesel is Multijet II and is Euro 6 compliant. Hence it will be BSVI compliant too.

That said - With the exception of the newly launched Mercedes S class which is the first certified BS6 vehicle in India - everything else is certified as BS4 only for now - since the quality of fuel required is not available in the country (S Class is BS6 compliant on BS4 fuel). Compass will be certified BS4 only till then.

The cheaper 1.3 Multijet needs to be upgraded to meet BS6 norms though.

Jeep has acted fast and replaced his car. Mistakes happen. They have handled it well.

Well, there are many incidents where people have waived the handling charges off saying it is illegal with Skoda and Hyundai on different threads. Check them out. Write to the heads and check with them.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

As per the enclosed Pricing Sheet of Bengaluru, they are charging 8000/- as Logistics and Handling Charges.

Bengaluru Pricing Sheet - Jeep Compass

I have asked my Uncle (who has booked a Compass 4x2 Limited) to speak to the Dealer and check if he can waive some of it.

On another note, the Sales Rep has agreed to provide a Pre-Delivery Inspection as soon as the vehicles reach the yard. He said the Engine number will be allotted once we give go ahead based on PDI in the Yard. He is assuring there would be 2 vehicles of the same color and variant for us to see and choose from . The yard in Bengaluru is located in Mahadevapura. Estimated arrival for the vehicles to the yard is before end of this week! (Booking was made on 27-Jan-2018). We are pretty impressed with the response from dealer so far.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Looking at the Trailhawk pictures from Rushlane: isn't that rear towhook sticking out of the bumper quite a lot? Are they removable?

This is typical to the Trailhawk version. There are two red towhooks at the front and back in red and these are non removable!
