If you go for Sensairy - As much as is possible - please install it from SensAiry authorized dealership / installation partner. Wheel alignment, balancing (including cost of weights) is included in the overall installation price. What @sahil624 paid seems to be the around the typical installation price, so thats fine. If an authorized partner is nearby, a YouTube university crash course won't be necessary.

You can see if there is a nearby one on their official page here - LINK - SensAiry installation partners

Thanks! Yes, they have quoted ~6k in total (~2k for parcel tray and ~4k for the fog lamp). May be, I should mention that I haven't asked for enabling the cornering function of the fog lamp. As you may know that a higher variant Nexon comes with corner lighting feature that uses one of the fog lamps while turning. Please check whether their quote includes such electronic features as well.

Best,

Best,
I am not aware about that feature. Sharing the list of accessories along with their prices from Tata Dealership below:

Hmm! The listed price is for the DRL (Daytime Running Lamps) and the fog lamps together. The face-lift Nexon already comes with DRL. In my opinion, you don't need any additional DRL. Maybe BHPian Reinhard can share his opinion on this.

Best,

Man thats one "feature" I hate so much! Especially since the car comes with near useless 16W halogen bulbs in the fogs which make 0 difference in cornering.

To summarize for @Varun_G- the feature "cornering" is such that after-dark (i.e. when your position/head lamps are turned ON) - when you turn on the indicator for a side OR start turning the steering wheel beyond a threshold - that side's fog light automatically turns ON - in theory to provide more illumination in that direction while one turns. Its a frequently seen feature in cars in Europe etc. Its not bad per se. But when one wants to upgrade the fog lights to something like HIDs - this feature is a killer - since it constantly keeps on firing the HID bulbs thus, killing the bulbs and ballasts much earlier.

Its a feature built into the BCM software and cannot be disabled or enabled. So its not in lower trims that don't come with factory installed fog lights (like XM).

Wow, never knew such features also exist . Thank you Reinhard for illuminating me with a very comprehensive explanation

Now the question I have is that, why on Earth is the dealership quoting 17k for a pair of fog lamps especially when the DRL is already a part of the model? I just want a normal pair of fog lamps as the free space doesn't look nice in that portion and fog lamps might be useful for Bangalore weather at times

Simple answer is - to make profit. You can separately procure the XZ+ OEM fog light pair. It costs a cool 1076 INR x 2 + shipping. Without any DRL or anything. Anyway the 2020 Nexon has fantastic standard DRLs so the round ones around fog lights don't look that great.

Link - Boodmo.com Tata OEM front fog lights

You'll have to install it with a separate relay harness and switch somewhere on the dashboard. Spending almost 3000 on this for cosmetic gains, somehow doesn't seem worthwhile to me. Do not expect a lot of illumination gains from it. It would be better to wait a bit if needed and spend around INR 7000 instead, for HID projector fog lights for REAL illumination. Installation will be more or less same as the OEM fog lights. Same time and effort would be required. No difference.

No specifications have been given so I am a bit confused. Any recommendations? I like the stock sound, otherwise would have upgraded the front set to something even better.
Quoting myself as I haven't received any response on this. Anyone has any clue?

Are you out of warranty? If not - then this should be replaced free of cost at the ASC.

If out of warranty and you want to replace from outside -
  1. I believe the 2 speakers are different on Boodmo because one of them is categorized as a component. The other isn't. I suspect the higher trims with tweeters might be getting the component categorized speaker. I don't know though.
  2. Your best bet to find what is the actual matching speaker is - visit the ASC, ask them to check in the inventory software based on your chassis number & tell you the exact part number of the speaker in question that matches your car specifications. Match that part number on boodmo.com & thats the one you need to procure.
  3. It might be worth placing the order at the ASC also perhaps.

My car is under extended warranty and speakers are not covered. The ASC confirmed this last week. They did not have the speaker in stock but I missed checking the part number. Also, they were not ready to accept that the speaker is behaving weird. I guess they had a lot of cars to take care off and my issue seemed tiny. I will probably visit a different SVC and place the order.

One thought was to use this as an opportunity and replace the front set with something even better. Checked some infinity speakers at a local shop and they were priced around 10k (including tweeters, which my car already has). Dont want to spend a bomb on this and thus visiting the ASC might be the best option. Thanks for the help.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

Tata motors have increased there pv price by 26k across all model wrt 21st jan.

Relief point is Tata has offered price protection for older booking and hence this increased price will be applicable for cars booked after 21st Jan.

Have noticed slight rust on the edges on the boot door. Should I be worried? Is there any rust prevention spray to address this.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

Hi,
Need some help on buying the nexon. I did a TD today on Nexon petrol and the diesel AMT(as diesel MT was not available for test drive) & I am not able to conclude which one to go with. Felt both the engines were good although there was some kind of jerkiness in the petrol manual(surprisingly) but the SA said it is only on the td car whereas the diesel AMT felt good. My usage will be mostly for out station trips and it will be approximately 1500kms per month.

I am slightly leaning towards the diesel manual variant and planning to go for the XZ+ Diesel(S). The showroom gave me a quote of 14.1 lakhs as per the revised rates today.

Any pointers will be of great help.

Cheers,
Sudhir

Purely from a gearbox plus engine combination behavior, diesel is better than petrol counterpart in my view.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

You get rust prevention sprays. On top of that you can even use a can of spray paint (on these internal areas)
