You can avoid this by engaging S mode and up-shifting as per convenience or keeping in 2nd gear depending on what speed you are at. My colony has a lot of speed breakers and to avoid back and forth between 1st and 3rd, I sometimes use it.

Not sure if it impacts the engine in any way but is convenient for sure
Thanks. This is precisely what I do for stretches with large number of speed bumps or bad roads. The hesitation of the GBox to upshift from 1st and jumping to 3rd is a bit irritating.

Re: Ford Endeavour 2.0L Diesel AT : Official Review (with dune bashing)

Guys,

I am taking the delivery of Endeavour 4x4 T+ Diffused Silver color tomorrow. I had done a detailed PDI before the beast went for registration. Need advice on what to take care of on the delivery day. Also need suggestion on which Diesel brand to use that is best for the BEAST.

Eagerly waiting for responses from Endeavour owners.

Thanks in Advance.

Mod Note : Please do NOT use acronyms (e.g. ANHC, MS, T-Fort, JC, Endy) when referring to cars or their makers. You are ONLY permitted to use the full Make & Model name. This will make our content useful, searchable & easy-to-understand for experts & newbies alike.

Thanks for the support & understanding

Thanks in Advance.

Congratulations on your purchase and for a righteous decision too...
Please make sure , you get your Ford Pass application activated and linked to your VIN at the dealer itself. It is something which may bother you later.

Diesel brand i am not sure, but somebody suggested Vinner Diesel Plus additive, that myself still haven't tried.

Many congratulations. Wishing you hundreds of thousands of happy miles on the Endeavour. It will bring a smile to your face every time you get behind that wheel.

Nothing much to look out for on delivery day if you have already done the PDI. Few points below:

* Take delivery of hard copies - vehicle invoice, RTO (road tax) challan, payment receipts, etc.
* Note the no. of additional km on the odometer since your PDI - should correspond to the distance from yard to showroom, not more.
* Ensure that you have enough diesel to reach the nearest gas station
* Check for AdBlue status (via the RHS menu on MID) if not already done so - it should show a range of 7000-8000 km
* Check the tire pressure (not via the TPMS) if possible. For some unknown reason, all SAs tend to overinflate tires of delivery vehicles.
* Get the FordPass app configured from them before you drive off

Other than that, Ford sales guys are one of the best in business and ensure that all formalities are taken care of quite well, especially since you will be in a delirious state of mind on your new acquisition

On the diesel brand, I've been using HP regular diesel for all my SUVs till date with good results. Sticking to the same for Endeavour as well. I would strongly discourage the use of any additives for today's modern engines.

Under-chassis anti-rust treatment

Has anyone here got an under-chassis anti-rust treatment done for his/her Endeavour? I got a call from my dealer today, quoting approximately Rs. 4,500 for the same, coating being from 3M. Is this warranted for today's new-age cars? The Endeavour is not my daily-driver (used only for touring) and I do not stay near the coast, so humid environment is not applicable as well.

Thoughts/advise, please?

No man, skip! They probably have some targets to achieve

If you are in the south side, RV road has a half century old service station called Annapoorna, the old timers there will wash the under carriage nicely with diesel and elbow grease, followed with a spray of used engine oil. Just like the old days.

I had explored this a year ago as I was concerned with erosion caused by salt spreading on roads to reduce icing during winter. Turns out any sealing should be transparent so visual inspection of the chassis is not hindered during annual MOTs.

Read pros and cons of various products used for rust proofing. In the end just got the underside of the Endeavour jet washed for time being since an underbody inspection revealed a healthy chassis. Also, to get the job done properly requires a workshop with a ramp/lift and all non metal areas to be isolated/protected prior to its application. Labour costs in the UK quite expensive for what was being explained as a whole day's work over a two day period to allow for second coat.

So not yet done...thought to share my findings.

Since you are far off from coast, undercoating is not needed for rusting. But if you can get good one like 3M Schutz gold, will help reduce tire noise to some extent. You have to ensure its done by professional and good quality material is used.

You can go for the treatment. There is a separate coating for the silencer as well.
However please remember that the underbody needs thorough cleaning before applying the antirust. And the cleaning will not be sufficient with high pressure wash only. Scrubbing will also be required. There's no point in coating over dusty areas. You must personally inspect and be satisfied with the underbody cleaning before applying the antirust.

Modifying a new Endeavour 4x2 Titanium Plus

I have finally bitten the SUV Bullet and have booked a Ford Endeavour Titaniam Plus 4x2 from Bhavana Ford in Nerul. Mine is black.

I am looking for some references on how to go about modifying the car in terms of its front grill, wheels, tyres and side arches and possibly headlamps too to give it an understated yet beefy bully look, one where mumbai auto rickshaws will readjust and keep a respectful distance from

I would appreciate any modification inputs from people who have done it before including the references of any reliable and reputable modification specialist in Mumbai. I have zero clue on how to go about it.

I still haven't got around to thinking or finding out what I will do with the 4 rims and tyres etc that will be rendered surplus as its a brand new vehicle about to be delivered on 15th Aug.

Re: Ford Endeavour 2.0L Diesel AT : Official Review (with dune bashing)

One of my friend is facing a weird issue with his new Endeavour 4x2. There seems to be vibration on the co-driver floor while accelerating the vehicle. He took the vehicle to Ford service center (Kairali Ford Kochi ) and as expected they said its 'normal' for all new Endeavour 2.0 but my friend is not at all convinced by this. He indeed asked for a demo vehicle if this is 'normal' for all 2.0 model but service center guys simply said demo vehicle is not available. Its hard to believe there was not even a single vehicle at the dealership !!! (Per Ford Official website Kairali Ford has 5 sales outlets in Kochi )
He emailed Ford customer care and now they're asking him to come down to Kochi again for comparison & test drive, which is ~125 Kms from his place and he refused to do so.(State accounts 50% of covid cases in our country now) Customer care executive is ignoring the fact that the service center should have arranged a demo vehicle and would have addressed the concern then and there, if this is 'normal' (Vehicle was at the service center from 9 AM to 6 PM) and was simply asking to bring the vehicle again ! Customer care executive sounds more like she is working for the dealership than Ford India. Also my friend did not get any feedback call from Ford India for both the scheduled services done.

Can anyone please PM me the mail ID for Anurag Mehrotra ?

Keeping the service mess aside, Any inputs on vibration issue is greatly appreciated (Just for peace of mind)

Its Endeavour 2.0 4x2 2020 December model 1800Km driven so far.

Vehicle was very rarely used due to the lock down and travel restrictions and was kept in the garage with handbrake on. On a short drive, my friend noticed an error message 'Brake applied Power reduced' on instrument cluster every now and then. Per owners manual, this message is supposed to show up when you're driving the vehicle with the hand brake on. Problem disappeared after second service.

Re: Modifying a new Endeavour 4x2 Titanium Plus

Considering you've bought a massive SUV that will probably never go offroad (keeping in mind that it is the 4x2 version), could you perhaps look into lowered suspension? Other motorists will appreciate being able to see what is ahead

This is definitely not "normal"! The ASS guys are washing their hands off - quite disappointing. I'd suggest that you friend escalate the issue to Ford India again, and also make some noise on Twitter.

Coming to the issue at hand, it could be because of multiple reasons. In increasing order of severity - loose passenger seat mechanism, WA/WB issue, some underbody metal part coming loose/rubbing against the floor, a disbalanced rear propeller shaft, or worst case, a transmission problem.

Few troubleshooting tips:

* Does it happen only when the car is running or even at standstill (with engine being revved)?
* Did the car encounter some very bad roads recently?
* Has this issue surfaced only after the parking brake issue?

Edit: Just saw the note on "second service". How come the vehicle has seen its second service if it is a Dec 2020 model, done only 1,800 km? The second service comes up after 1 yr of ownership or 10,000 km, whichever is earlier.
