Don't believe there is a 'fix' to this - system has a default start and will do so with FM - same probably in all Tata Cars, my humble 2016 Tiago XZ (P) has the same. For your concundrum of having to manually change to Bluetooth or having to bear the static of no-connection FM, the possible work-around IMHO will be to configure the start-up volume to be 1-2 (bare minimum); hopefully, this will solve your problem.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Dear All,

I got this accessories list for my upcoming Safari from dealer. I am planning for below items.

1. Car cover
2. Front parking sensor (very tight spot in my current parking area)
3. Mud flap

Any other suggestions on must have's from direct dealer here?

Tata had advertised a roof box for sunroof variants. On asking a dealer, I got a quote of 1.2L, which seemed exorbitant. Does anyone have an idea about the actual price of the accessry and whether the box is from a good brand or manufactured by Tata in-house?
I don't see it in the accessories list and I'm yet to see any proper printed price for it.

I will suggest to get Mud flaps and Cover from open market. These are for sure over priced. A good cover should cost you within 2500.

I consider following accessories useful:
  • Mud Flaps
  • 7D car mats
  • Wind visor
  • Car cover
  • Scuff plates, non-LED based
  • Nano fiber Brush

Hope you are aware front parking sensor are operated by a manual power button which is placed on the dashboard and is a little cumbersome to operate.

Thanks for bringing this up. I was not aware about it.

I found your earlier post (2021 Tata Safari Review) about how the parking sensor switch was placed.

Honestly, it looks like after thought by Tata. Any other better solutions which doesn't void warranty?

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Dear All,

Looks like waiting periods for Tata cars is quite huge for some of their models.
Just thought of sharing this recent data I received from a Tata dealer in Pune.

- Tata Punch is commanding highest waiting period 34 - 38 weeks (~8-9 months) in their stable.
- Tata Harrier & Safari at 1 month waiting period.

As per the dealer and a source in Tata, the waiting periods are going to increase further due to increasing shortage of semi conductors.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Tata had increased prices of Safari today across all variants by 3K except for Kaziranga edition.

This makes the starting variant to cross 15 Lac price range ex showroom price.

For both Manual and Automatic variants the increase is same and this can be seen in their official website also.

Refer to Ex Showroom price comparison details of all variants below.

I got the following at the time of delivery:

1. Side steps, absolutely necessary if you have elders at home.
2. Mud flaps.

In process or queue:
1. I have ordered Autoform 7D car mats. Hopefully will be delivered by next week.
2. Auto dimming IRVM ( Genuine Tata accessory costing 8k)
3. Need help with which dash cam i should go for, suggestions welcome.
4. Car seat covers, local vendor quoting 15k for autoform Nappa bucket fit. How do I confirm if they are original and are they good. Still confused about which color to go. The accessory guy says go for black, while white looks better. I also like the dark tan available with Harrier XZ but a if it is a shade lighter then it wont look good. Might just settle for black in the end.

Front sensors and camera won't be connected to infotainment and will need seperate screens which is very off putting.

Rear camera is horrible and would love to know if anybody has switched it for a better camera, if yes, which one and does it use the same spot.

Still not sure about getting a subwoofer. Too scared of warranty getting void discussion.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

I know I am very late to the party, but I experienced Safari yesterday which was worth the mention even after being late.

I got the chance to evaluate the new Safari in long-ish 30+ km test drive yesterday.
Absolutely impressed by the way it masks the speeds.
In sport mode it takes lot of efforts to NOT TO Cross 100kmph.
Great insulation keeps the cabin super silent and that JBL sound system is JUST AMAZING.
Even on low volume it pours soothing experience to your ears.

Manual Gearbox was okay with that slightly heavy clutch but automatic was butter smooth making it a default choice. If I decide to spend close to 30L on a car in future I think Safari would be the one strong contender in my list.

Same thoughts here too. I feel that Safari is somehow underrated.

I wasn't considering Safari earlier but after lot of research from our forum, friends and influencers from YouTube made me to take a test drive.

My test drive impressions turned out to be very surprising.
I got totally floored by the way it handled unreasonably placed and sized speed breakers in Pune at good speeds.

I got wowed by the sheer space it was offering inside with super ride comfort and power.

I felt the steering to be just perfect, not too light nor too tight.

Safari was my last test drive vehicle and stopped looking further after a friend of mine who is a super critic of Tata changed his opinion forever and gave me a go ahead for Safari purchase.

I am planning a detailed review soon and shall present some of my views for choosing Safari over its competitors.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Indeed it is underrated and you know what I feel? We criticize Tata way too much over negligible issues whereas similar small issues of other brands are overlooked. Tata Safari is a beast in every sense and I have beem driving it for nearly 3 months now and have enjoyed each km so far.

Thanks for the suggestions @SinghP09

From where did you order Autoform 7D mats and what is the cost?
I am considering below 2 options and unable to decide yet.

1. Hi-Art 7D mats (link)
2. GFX mats (link)

Dashcam: Planning 70mai or DDPAI but model not yet decided.

RearCam: OEM is really bad but I am not planning for an upgrade yet. I hope there are sensors which beep when reversed. I can rely on them for now.

FrontSensors: Tata genuine accessory is after thought and not going to go for it. I will add if felt absolutely necessary after few months of drive.
Poona Motors have a 360 camera product which they claim integrates without voiding warranty. I need to further explore this.

SeatCovers: I am not considering any as I have booked Dark XZA+. Autoform seat covers are expensive and of good quality. Wonder how anyone can check genuine or not.

Subwoofer: I read good reviews of JL audio. Please check online.

Here is a video review of Safari Adventure Persona in Orcus White. Difficult to identify whether it is Harrier or Safari from the front IMO.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Hello BHPians,
I am glad to be part of this community, and this will be my first post in this forum.
I have finalized my selection to TATA Safari XZA+ Kaziranga Edition, however, I am still unclear about the below things. Looking forward to your input.
(1) Maintenance Schedule and Cost
  • is the schedule 6 months or 1 year (Dealer says it’s for every 1 year or 10000 whichever is earlier, but the online forum says for every 6 months)
  • Approx. cost for regular service post free services
(2) Is there any information about a new variant/update coming soon with enhanced features / ICE other than those available variants at present? (I am not looking for 4X4)
(3) Any Recommended Dealer/Branch in Hyderabad to book the vehicle (I am confused with reviews about the dealers in Hyderabad)[/list]
P.s - Hoping to share my purchase experience soon
