First one is at 1K which I have done. My doubt was on the second service, thanks for clarifying that

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Toyota Fortuner Legender 4X4 launched at 42.33 lakhs, a whopping 3.7 lakhs more than the Legender 4x2. Toyota turning the milking machine on post Endeavour? This will be over 50 lakhs in Delhi itself, Bangalore folks will shell out a few lakhs more

You do get the 11 speaker JBL system (which comes in Fortuner 4x4) over standard 6 speaker set up in the 4x2 Legender, so yay?

Hi, even when Endeavor was selling before Fords unholy exit from India, Toyota has increased the price of Fortuner early this year. So, nothing surprising and unexpected on that front.

Simple business approach, there is a demand and they sell to it!!

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Saw the updated Fortuner today. There is a change in the AC control section to accommodate the dual zone AC. When you press the DUAL button, you can set the temperature independently for the left and right sides through the two rotary knobs. Rear AC control is now a smaller button. The on-road price for 4x4 AT is up by 50k.

The earlier one had rear ac functionality on the left knob. Picture from the review below.

In Hyderabad, with 40 kmph speed limit being enforced strictly, DON returned some good mileage numbers.

I didn't check that. It was stuck between a lot of cars. I had a tough time even opening the doors. SA said he will allow me a detailed PDI next week before clearing the payment. I will check it then.

On another note, I am having second thoughts now with the scare regarding the DPF issues. But then I can't find any other car that will satisfy my itch.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Changes in the new Oct models:

Fortuner/Legender 4x2:
- Dual zone climate control
- Steel spare wheel (only in Fortuner)
- No Idle stop/start feature

Fortuner 4x4:
- Dual zone climate control
- Steel spare wheel

Legender (both variants) have alloy spare wheel.

Wondering why the idle start/stop is removed only in 4x2 and not in 4x4 ?

Removing the alloy spare wheel is pure cost cutting and yet increasing the prices by 50k OTR. Endeavour had a steel spare wheel, wonder why Toyota is following Ford and deleting features. It’s not a 10Lakh car that you are saving few thousands by deleting the alloy spare, it’s a 50L car!

Nothing but plain cost-cutting!

Looks like Toyota is clear they want to rename the Fortuner Legender as only Legender and keep the Fortuner separate in the coming years, this way they can increase prices obnoxiously and maintain a good difference in features between the regular Fortuner and Legender.

When you have no competition this is what it leads to, really wish Ford hadn’t exited and kept Toyota India with one foot on the ground with their Endeavour.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Hi all,

DON got the Old Man Emu suspensions (struts and springs) installed yesterday. I purchased the kit from Ozone, Bengaluru and had them installed at Xenex, Hyderabad. The installation went smooth and all things were in order.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Do give a review of the difference in ride quality. On OE tires, BFG and then BFG with OME suspension.
Would be a good thing for future planning. This is a 3 inch lift it seems. Any plans for larger tires?

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

After install of OME on my 3L D4D Fortuner, the ride got a bit on the firmer side.
With the new one - the ride quality is already quite good.
How does it fare now with the OMEs?
Also, what brake kits are those on your vehicle? Did you import them too?

Ride quality on tarmac, OE tires do the job well. However, a 4x4 brawny SUV on HT rubber is not a good combination, per me.

BFGs ride little heavier than the OEM Bridgestones, for sure. However, the road grip and 'go anywhere' readiness is a great boon. Newer BFGs(post 2020 manufactored ones) also are not high on road noise at high speeds(relatively to the earlier ones).

BFGs with OME suspensions are a capable combination! The ride height increase is approx 3 inches. I have earlier used Ironman suspensions with Continental Cross contacts on my old Fortuner and know the benefits of the aftermarket suspensions. The ride height coupled with better spring ratings make it a less bouncy drive and more stable at high speeds.

Most of us make a mistake of ordering stiff springs thinking that we will load the Fortuner with bullbar and/or winch etc, in the front. That makes the ride stiffer! I opted for no bullbar and no winch set up, that helps me with ride quality and the lift gain. If ever, I want to load my car with bullbar and winch(which I don't think I will do in the near future), I will just replace the front springs with higher rated ones, for the load.

OMEs make the ride less bouncy and more stable at speeds. The OEM suspensions are very well sorted out and are definitely better than the earlier model, however once we get used to the aftermarket suspensions, then it is always an itch!!

The brake kits are stock, just well painted in red for the looks.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Congrats, Rajith.
The Legender looks svelte as compared to the standard Fortuner.
Wish you many lakh kilometers of happy ownership
