Yes 1958 Ambassador bumpers were changed in 1960 I hope. The cross section is different.

Take a look at the Amby I came across yesterday and fell in love immediately. Take a look.

Boss, I am not sure but just informing that the Amby with red rims belongs to V.Shanta ram's family. I remember seeing similar driver with this old Amby many years ago.

A virtual treat for all Ambassador fans. Please follow this link to read the road test of the Morris Oxford Series III as it appeared in Motor, UK, of 13/03/1957

Looks quite battle-worn it does. Surprisingly it seems it still has the original steering wheel intact! Pity about the rear bumper though!

Truly so.The car is quite worn out but the best part of it is that the owner has still tried to keep its identity as Landmaster. The grille in front, the rear badging on the boot lid (even though the owner's figment of imagination) indicate that the owner is trying his best to keep its identity intact though things are not in control. Or else, its common to see Mark II or Mark 3 grilles in front and other borrowed trims elsewhere.
The steering is borrowed from the pre- Nova, Ambassador and the dash is the contemporary, plasticky kind as can be seen from beyond the windscreen.
The rear bumper is one of a kind too ! Body Coloured!

This is surely a morphed image of Indian traffic in a American city backdrop. But thanks for the image.

The car is very close to my house. Owned since the 1970s, running an OHV engine, and done some very high milage. Still moves every once in a while, and I was told is for sale.

Steering is old Amby, dash is later Amby.

This car was for sale (and probably still is). The price went down to 75k but still did not sell....There are two Landmasters here in bangalore that are in the process of being restored. I met the owner and had an extensive chat. Will post pictures if possible...

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Saw this Amby today parked at Ettumanoor near Kottayam. The vehicle is clean and had original meters Smiths; or could be Autometer. I was unable to view closely. Had floor gears, diesel power block and AC.
The car is as Mark 1, but the MVD site show this car as a 1966 model and in which case it had to be converted backwards to Mark 1 from MarkII. The registration number is of 1968. The MVD record can also be wrong because of being backlogged one. Confusing but fact remains that the car is quite lovely. Take a look.
