Happened at least an year before.

Last time I was too happy to see 120KMPH since could really fly well beyond 100KMPH early in the morning but now again need to make sure to obey the law wherever and whenever possible
Try flying above 100 KMPH after 1730 till 1900 and you will realise why driving under 100 is saner on NICE road these days .

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

Effective yesterday (20 Dec 2017) NICE toll booths have stopped accepting Momoe payments. I spoke to one of the toll operators today and he told until 31 Dec they are accepting only cash payment mode. From 01 Jan 2018 they are replacing Momoe with new mobile wallet app called Tonetag which can be used to make cashless toll payments.
The app is currently available only for Android users. I hope they soon roll out for iOS too

EDIT: I have some 500 Rs. as my Momoe wallet balance. i dont use Momoe for any other payment except NICE which i am sure is the case for many of them in Bangalore. I need to somehow figure out ways to spend 500 elsewhere

You lazily missed reading about it here (Query: NICE Road - Bangalore)last week when I posted about it.

Luckily I had just 18 bucks and that I believe will go as charity now.

There are talks that NICE is coming up with their own app or an RFID system. Each toll operator Is spoke to (2) gave different versions.

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

Off-Topic (from Query regd NICE road), but this is the most exhaustive thread available regarding NICE road

I get to see 10s of couples hanging by the side of NICE road (unsafe none the less) in their bikes, cars at times, at all times of the day. But for the 1st time I see a couple posing for a Video Cameraman (mostly honeymooners), BANG in the middle of the expressway, having parked their Ciaz oh-so-carelessly also parked in the center median of the express way. (I saw the camera man in action in my ORVM after I passed this couple in love)

For vehicles coming from Mysore to Bangalore via Kanakapura, there's no sign board from Kanakapura Road to NICE Road Toll plaza.

I am guessing from your location & from your post just now on Bangalore traffic thread that your were driving Mysore - Kanakapura - NICE road - Hosur. If that was the case, there indeed is signboard at NICE road entry on Kanakapura road.

The issue with signboard is that, you will not notice the same since its a small board on your right side. If I recollect it, the board mentions 'Hosur'.

Similarly, there are signboards mentioning Tumkur and other locations here, however its easy to miss. Or, rather difficult to spot.

I wanted to take the exit to NICE road so that I can join Bannerghatta Road. But, there was no sign board indicating to take a right on Kanakapura road.

So, I had to travel further, take an 'U' turn and finally managed to take a left after IOC Bunk. Phew!

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

This toll booth is an absolute mess! (At Electronic City) I have been trying to keep sane but the operators manage to pull out a dirty trick almost everyday, they almost always never give exact change! They always skimp on 1 rupee when I'm trying to juggle between the bike, ticket and change. I tend to carry exact change, but the day I can't they ask you to go aside and wait until they get change and the way they ask you to do so is anything but a request! I don't pay to get intimidated by goons, neither do I pay for using awkwardly patched roads. Since the daily lives keeps me so tied up, I barely get the strength to find the right leads at the toll booth. Do any of you have any contact details where we can reach out to?

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

Yesterday, I saw a board on the toll-booth about NICE e-pay. When asked, the attendant told me that it is some App. Went home and checked; found some news that NICE road will be doing it via the ToneTag. Anybody got any more information on this? Is it already functional?

I too noticed the same last Sunday. Checked with attendant and he was clueless. When I pointed at the signage stuck on booth window, he had to crane out his head through the window and read to understand what I was saying.

Anyways, I asked if its a tag and he replied yes. So not sure if its true or not. Hope its not another RFID tag.

BHPian sandsun7 had messaged me about this 2 months back and here is what I had found then (May 2017) that even says that NICE enables ToneTag.

Link to Article

Excerpts:
  • ToneTag : A Proximity communications firm for frictionless e-payment by just unlocking the Phone

  • The ToneTag technology works on sound frequency and allows the customer to make toll payments by just unlocking their phone

  • The transaction is completed in less than 2 seconds and payments at the backend are processed on real time

  • When a customer with a ToneTag app drives towards a Toll Plaza which is integrated with ToneTag, the customer will receive a payment request notification

  • Upon confirming this request with one-click, the payment will be processed and the customer will be able to drive through the gate

More about ToneTag Technology:

ToneTag technology communicates with the merchant's PoS system through encrypted sound waves. ToneTag technology uses sound waves to enable offline, proximity-based contactless, cashless and cardless payments from one mobile phone to another or any other computing device. This technology benchmarks the security standards with features like patented noise filters, blockchain technology, three levels of encryption, tokenization, white box cryptography and multifactor authentication

BHPian speedsatya has collected the form on yesterday but is yet to confirm to me whether this was successful at all.

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

I collected the form yesterday from kanakapura road entrance booth. Will submit tomorrow at hoskerehally booth and wait for the registration confirmation. Apparently, you could also scan and send the form by email.

I too have collected form yesterday and today evening at BG Road NICE exit i checked with toll operator what i am supposed to do with the form? They too told me fill the form and email it. But on next steps and time taken for e-pay to get enabled they are completely clueless.

Its a pain paying cash everyday morning and evening.
