Re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

While using VCDS last week to tweak the RCD 510 installation, I had enabled selective unlocking (under Cent. Elect. > Adaptation, drop down menu) of doors but disabled it due to the inconvenience. Enabling selective unlocking unlocks only the driver side door with the press of the keyfob’s unlock button while the remaining doors are still locked (including the boot). Since I keep the bag in the rear seat when I head to work, I found this option inconvenient thus disabled it. Some folks may find it useful.

Re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

Hi Gannu,

Whilst going through your thread on RCD510 installation here, I realized you had to copy over few files for enabling in VCDS.
I'm getting Out of Range errors for quite a few options (changing reverse parking sound, volume to be replenished etc) and earlier ruled it out thinking my BCM could be incompatible. But now I'm tempted to attribute those errors to few missing files as well.

Could you please suggest?

Just one file - 3A-56.lbl so VCDS recognises the HU.

If the label files are missing from the Labels folder, you will get the out of range error. I shall upload the labels folder from my VCDS installation later today evening here. You can try adding the missing label files to your installation folder and see if it works.

Your BCM is a highline one ending in 087, the best you can get.

Here you go - Labels.part1.rar, Labels.part2.rar.

Merge them into a single folder Labels and add the missing ones to yours. Don't replace any file (just in case!).

Thanks a lot Gannu. You are a Star!

I'll reconcile the labels with mine and add missing ones.

I am in the process of buying a polo highline 90ps 1.5 diesel. Want to know if it is possible to enable Instantaneous fuel consumption via vcds and could you please provide a list of features that can be activated using vcds on polo. Please provide the software version no. as well and a link to buy the cable that is compatible with the polo highline.

Re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

Hi Folks, I have been using the VCDS cable from aliexpress with 12.12 firmware for quite sometime now. It works well.

Recently encountered updated cables on Aliexpress and a Russian website with v14 and v15 respectively.

Does anyone know where I can find the updated software or will my cable not support the update?

All the cables are clone cables. You cannot upgrade the firmware of the vcds cable. The max supported version for a clone cable is 12.12.3

Gannu, Thanks again. I finally managed to update my VCDS labels with the missing ones from yours.

1. Volume to be replenished is now enabled.

2. Tried changing the tone of reverse parking buzzer. But no luck as VCDS is not able to deduct the controller. This was spotted by StarScream earlier as below.

The new one is audio only, doesn't show up in VCDS and hence allows no customization. I learned this the hard way after my Blau 835 didn't give me reverse-sensor display. I think this is what is happening with your car.
3. Tried enabling static cornering lights. Got a positive confirmation that coding is accepted. But doesn't work.

Switched on laptop this morning and VCDS prompted that an update 15.7.0 is available. Updated same. So the latest version is 15.7.0.

Do you use original cable or is it Chinese clone? Can clones be updated?

Is there something similar to a VCDS cable for Maruti vehicles?

The reason I'm asking is, I got the lane change indicator function changed from 3 blinks to 4 blinks at MSM Chennai.
Hello, Can someone please clarify?
