Tried reasoning with the VW ASC Bangalore, to change the settings, but the service advisor didnt seem to have any clue. Later, he mentioned that it is against the VW policy to change the setting and it will void my warranty if i attempt to do anything on my own. Not sure if he was being entirely honest with me .

That's bull. Frankly most of the SA are not aware of the vcds capability. They are just trained to do GFF on it. Whereas its such a powerful tool. In fact they have Odis too which can do sw management Svm for most of our modules. But they are simply not aware. As a fact even if you change the settings I am sure they will not even able to know about it

Like is said, Most of the services center's will not entertain any such requests, Because they themselves don't know that anything like this exists, Best bet is to find someone in your city with the cable who is willing to do it for you, Or get the cable yourself and explore it all.

Does the ELM327 adapter and Torque Pro app work on VAG cars?

Was trying to connect my generic bluetooth-enabled OBD adapter to my Octavia but it is not working. The lights flash on and shows it is powered up, but it is unable to read any parameters.

The same unit works fine on my Cruze.

Any experiences of OBDeleven? Seems a sweet deal at only 55 Euros for a casual programmer like me. sivasain is using one and hope he will post his detailed experiences with it.

Am also selling off my Aliexpress VAG cable as I cannot install the pirated software on my office laptops, and don't have a home laptop to experiment on.

I have been using OBD11 for 6 months now. Quite happy with it.

I can almost do everything that an amateur needs. I have even done DSG Readaptation.

One downside is that some modules won't have passwords or label files. But you can google for the right channel, byte, bit and perform the operation yourself.

Many thanks I saw you were not online so did not want to disturb you via PM.

Did you buy it off their own site or off eBay etc? Any discount? Did they safely and speedily?

I got it off their site directly. Came via PostNL (Registered with Tracking). takes about 3 weeks.

Also very friendly guys and respond to emails promptly. I had issues getting my ID credited with the points on the app. They helped me promptly.

They are also willing to create custom apps for you, provided you give them the image, and the adaption to map it to.
