11.5V during cranking if fine.

Which battery have you ordered? Cost?

When was this fluctuation that you were noticing? Was it when ignition ON?
Thanks for replying Anurag.

Finally, changed the battery and the car started just fine.

Hello everyone, 4 days now and i am loving the Figo Zxi (Diesel) Drive. Just wanted to confirm the tyre pressure which I've been asked to keep Front - 35 psi and Rear - 40psi. Is that the standard followed by most of the Figo owners?

Great news buddy. Good that the car is back to its normal state.

F=35 psi and R=40 psi!

Where did you get these figures?

IMO 32 - 33 psi all round is more than enough. If in doubt, check your drivers side B-pillar where the tire placard is placed.

The Showroom manager confirmed from the B Pillar. I've got 14" Neo (5 spoke) alloys yesterday. Would 34 psi be good enough for all 4?

I guess these figures are there in owners manual itself. If I am not wrong the figures are quoted for laden condition. For un-laden its 33 all around.

Yup they seem to be good enough.

Do try and experiment to narrow down what type of pressure suit you and your car.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

The air pressure recommended is 30 psi on all 4 tyres. It is the same for the Fiesta Classic and the Figo. But in fully-laden conditions, Ford recommends 35 at the front and 40 at the rear.

I've not used that weird combination except once. It did help avoid belly-scraping on huge speed-breakers, but I did not like the loss of traction on wet roads. I normally top up to 31 on all 4 in city, and 31/ 33 for highway drives in a fully-loaded car.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

I own a Fiesta classic TDCI, it has now run around 78k kms and lately the mileage has dropped . My current mileage is around 14kmpl driven on outside city limits and single lane highways where I used to get 18+ kmpl.
I raised this issue with Ford last service and got the ECU reprogrammed (this according to the service adviser was the only thing they could do) but looks like it is not really helping. My last 2 tankfuls gave a DTE for 531km and 515km respectively which getting me worried now. Looking forward to some advice on how to get this resolved.

TIA

Thanks a4anurag & vnabhi...I'll try and maintain 32psi in all 4. I've been maintaining 32psi in my Wagon R and Baleno for almost over 5 years now - so I guess 32psi should fix it for Ford Figo as well! Thanks again !

Also, I want to know if an mileage of 12.5 Kms on the Odo for about 2500kms is normal or not? I've been asked to wait till atleast 4500 kms before the average opens up and comes to around 16+ with AC in city driving.

-- When was the air filter changed last?

-- Any new fuel pump station used to for filling?

-- Hope the tyre pressures were as prescribed?

I believe the air filter was changed during last service in December.

No new fuel pumps tried, I was sticking to known ones.

Tyre pressure was also fine, not low.

Any other thing that I should check or should I check the air filter again?

May be get the air filter cleaned once and also clean the MAF. Both these are easy DIY's.

Are the engine sounds the you hear normal or do you hear any kind of air leaking? Having a faint doubt on turbo plumbing leak.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

Guys, my Figo TDCi is 4 yrs and 58k kms old. Lately, I am hearing uncommon sounds whenever I take speed breakers or pot holes at some speed. Earlier these were never there. What could be the reasons? Could there be problem with bushes since the rubber would have hardened and started to disintegrate. Also, I think one of the shock absorber of front side is showing signs of oil leak. Any idea if this could be fixed or replacement is the only option?
