My SJCAM4000 now 3 years old, has started giving problems, I am getting a message on the screen saying memory card is full, I format and then it works fine till it gets filled to capacity.

Wonder why it is not making space by itself.

The battery had bulged taking the panel of the power button out, I had removed the panel and use the actual switch to move to the menu.

Anyone came across this problem and has any ideas?

I saw these posts today - somehow missed seeing these earlier.

I got my Blaupunkt DVR repaired from their service centre in Mumbai - had shipped it to them. They returned it to me about 3 weeks ago, and it worked well for the last 3 weeks and then stopped working again today ! I sent a mail to them today but haven't got any response from them. Not at all impressed by the repair carried out by Blaupunkt.

I'm not aware of any DVR repair shop , but a general purpose electronic repair shop ( camera/computer ) may be able to do it. But as my experience goes, it's unlikely to be reliable. It's probably better to buy a new one if the old one's worked for 2+ years. I guess these products in general have a life of 2-3 years.

Most likely I'm going to order a viofo , or maybe a Blaupunkt again as it costs 3.2k . No point in spending a lot of money if a cam lasts for a couple of years or so.

I got my Viofo A119 dashcam from aliexpress delivered in 15 days, ordered on 2nd July and delivered on 17th July. Packing was nice and camera seems to be working fine in my initial testing.

Be careful with the CPL filter. Tends to fall off with the slightest touch. However, mysteriously stays intact even on very bad roads.

Meanwhile, I have inquired with Viofo about maximum memory card size supported by A119 and received the following reply

Yes, A119 supports memory card up to 128GB.
Also according to our experience, Transcend or Samsung Micro SD card works well with our camera.

Folks, I am planning to buy a dashcam(both front and rear) for my car. I am getting it with the help of a friend who is returning from US. How good are the below shortlisted ones?

Lots of better options available in the price range you're looking at.

I'd be leery of buying from a company that doesn't even list the complete specifications.

The OV4689 sensor can't do 4K.

I was looking at DP220 as well but since I was shopping for front and rear cams together I thought of other options. This has only one recorder right.

You won't find a decent dual channel within $100, nothing even half decent.

Go for separate cameras for the front and rear.

Within this price range, VIOFO is quite decent. I'd suggest the A119 over the A119S as of now, at least until the 'XXXXX boxes' bug is put to rest.
