Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Please suggest a dashcam (preferably capacitor based) with rear camera. As aspire comes without parking sensors and rear view camera, I am thinking to install a dashcam which comes with an extra camera which I can install near the rear windshield. This way, the dashcam screen would help me while I back up. Searched AliExpress, but the options are too confusing. Can anyone suggest a particular model?

Sharing of links will be helpful.
You just missed the 11.11 sale from aliexpress. Anyways. I guess mini0805 or sjcam4000 suggested in the above threads should be fine for your requirement. You can also look at BP2.0 on Amazon.

Not sure if anyone has used it here. But curiosity makes me ask why have you chosen this model it of all umpteen models used by our members here?

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Ali Express delivered DDpai Mini 2 in 21 days. Intact and as described. I will need to remove the dashcam every time I give the car for service. The 3M sticker behind the cam may not work after a couple of pulls. Ideas anybody ? Also, which is a better place - Windshield or the RVM ?

The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Guys I am planning to order this one. https://m.aliexpress.com/s/item/3279...741db203ZW3P3e

Just a few last minute questions.

1. Has anyone order this very model? Does it include the accessories that are required for hard wiring?

2. From the pictures it seems we can detach the camera from the stand when giving the car for service?

3. Does it make more sense to go for whw A119 model instead of the A119s?

Why will you need to remove the dashcam at the time of servicing? Just make sure to point to it so that it is not stolen. If at all it is a policy at the service center, simply remove the sd card or the usb cable powering it. Don't remove it again and again because it will fall off sometime later.

Best place is exactly below the IRVM. Doen't come in peripheral vision of driver, and covers the front area perfectly.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I have bought the same couple of months back.

1. From the link, i can see the package includes GPS, Hard wire kit and CPL Filter (same as mine)

2. Camera can be detached (but the GPS is attached to windshield)

3. From the net search, the difference is on the night time record quality better in A119S where as A119 has higher resolution (better in day time recording).

Hard wire kit is not mentioned in the contents list given by the seller. Are you saying you got the kit with the camera ?

Also the s model doesn't come with memory card. What type of memory cards do these camwras support? Should I get the memory card from them or buy it from FK/Amazon ?

I am seeing the Hardwire kit details in the link you have given (in the item description, image and also the package content: 1 x Original VIOFO hardwire cable +fuse)

I was using normal Micro SD card which i bought for my mobile, which worked without any issues. Later i bought a High Endurance SD card through Aliexpress and using that for the last couple of months (link below).

Faced the same issue of adapter broken with in couple of days of usage. Bought a new one in Amazon (link below). Instead of pluging out the adapter, i plug out the USB cable from the adapter.

I think you should opt for Viofo A119 V2 version which is the latest. See the link. Choose from the Viofo store on Ali express, you can add GPS, CPL filter and Hard wire kit separately, this will bump up the price though.

https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...701811121.html

Generally most of the dashcams require Micro Sd cards of Class 10 and min read/write speeds of 80mbps. Size of the card can vary but 64Gb would be most ideal. Opt for either Sandisk or Samsung makes. If you buy them along with the dashcam, it will far cheaper since the cards are pretty expensive here on Amazon of Flipkart. You will get them cheaper on Ali express

I was asking about this model if this has the hard wiring kit? Let me know if you know? I dont want to order the camera and later on realise after delivery that hard wiring kit is not provided. Then wait another month for the kit.

Also, the maximum capacity memory card available (you can buy) with the camera is 32GB.

I cant find the name of the seller in the link you sent. The Viofo A119s is sold by Shenzhen Smartway Technology Co., Ltd. which has good feedback.

I am extremely sorry for the confusion. I meant to ask if the A119 model comes with the hard wiring kit ? It is considerably cheaper and I can add a memory card with the camera.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I bought a PROCUS CONVOY Dash cam last week. Have some issues,

I do not know how to check wether the camera recording, rather their manual is so confusing I could not follow.

When contacted I was told that the recording play back can be viewed only by connecting to a laptop. Is it so, WHAT IS THE POINT ? In that case I need to carry a laptop always with me to playback and to show in case of need. Is it not possible to replay with out connecting to computer.

When connected to my Mac Book Air, it failed to recognise. Same is the case when connected to my desk top too.

When connected to computer the dash cam displays " Mass storage and PC camera" What does that mean ?

I am totally lost as I am not techie. BHPians pl help.

No, the link which I sent you earlier did not have the hardwire kit included along with the dashcam. The hardwire kit can be bought as optional. You could choose any of the 3 single or in combination - GPS, CPL filter, Hardwire kit.

The official Viofo store on Ali express in on the link below:
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/3002026

The dashcom in the below link comes with hardwire kit.
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...19f6599dXmICTV

Hope the above clears your doubts.

Generally dashcam's allow max 32Gb to be bought along with the unit. But if you check the specifications, there it must be mentioned that max 64Gb card can be used. So you could skip ordering the memory card with dashcam and buy it separately.

Chrome on the AC vent knob and rubber cover over wiper nut were stolen when I gave for servicing this time. Just the bare minimum will be left behind the next time. I could replace with a double sided 3M tape when the glue weakens.
