OK thanks - I see a lot of videos where the routing of the wire is done under the A pillar panel , When we have Airbags under that - I'm guessing routing the wire outside is the only option ?

Since I have curtain airbags in my car, have planned to route the wiring for the rear camera through the floor rather than the roof. For the front camera where the wires will go through the A-pillar, will route it along with the OEM wiring harness.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I'm looking for a Frame Mount for my SJCam 4k Wifi Air so that I can use the same camera for both my cars as well as for my rides.
Could BHPians please suggest a place in Pune where I could find this?
Have been searching online but Amazon / Flipkart are out, and there seem to be few other options.

Will install them in my Ford Endeavour. Need to take out Blackvue DR750S-2CH first, which was already doing a great job. It was more of a impulse buying. Will be listing Blackvue for sale on our classifieds section soon.

Those who are looking for 70mai A800 please do not hesitate and buy from ebay.com and look for this Singapore dealer- Carnected. Good discount and free DHL express delivery but you need to pay around 43% custom +GST. I ordered on 12th Jan and got delivered today, faster than Amazon prime. Packaging is good but still need to run it.
I'm thinking of ordering this one (The U1000-2 Channel) as well.

How much did it cost you in total, delivered here? Any Customs duties levied?

I have the earlier models (one is still somewhere in a box in a suitcase when I shifted) - the Thinkware F770 (with rear cam) which I used in my (now flooded) Fortuner is in a box right now in my office - not tried to restart it yet...

Running my Safari Storme without a dashcam - tried locating the Thinkware F800 Pro somewhere, but cannot find it...

Hi Clevermax,

I just didn't want

1) extra screen so that I can review the videos on the go on current screen.
2) unnecessary wires and clutter.

Also I thought if something like that was available, regular firmware updates would be easier.

I do not know much pardon my ignorance.

Best,

The cost of U1000 - 2CH is $500. However there was year end sale. Got additional $100 off + free DHL shipping.
Yes there is custom duty+ GST, total=42% of (Invoice value+ shipping if billed separately)
So another $172 dollars in duty. Total $572.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I want to use Mini USB Cable for our Blaupunkt 2.0 Dashcam instead of OE Cable (12V DC Cigarette Lighter Port) so that the USB cable can Power the Dashcam and I can charge my mobile too from Single 12V Port available in our Xylo such as below-

The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread-img_20210204_170613.jpg
I found a Mini USB cable in our home but it does not fit the Dashcam.

One on the Right is of Dashcam. Left is USB cable found at home.
The Dashcam cable port (on the right) has Contact Pins on only one side (as per photo towards left side) while the other cable (on the left) has Contact Pins on two sides (as per photo on left and right side).
Please inform which port does the cable on the left have.
Are both Mini B USB cable but with some difference?

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

70mai has released a new A800s as a replacement for A800. The HiSilicon SoC has been replaced with Sigmastar Chipsets. Apart from that, everything is identical to the earlier version (A800). The model is up for pre-booking with nexdigitron for 15K with a rear dashcam as well. This was the price of A800 with front and rear but A800s was quoted to be on sale with 25% discount with actual price as 20K.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I am planning to pick one.

Price is very high. My friend had paid 12,000 for the unit. This was available last August, in 2020

The price you mentioned is it with www.nexdigitron.com? I have been checking this for some time now and I haven't seen the price @ 12K for both rear and front.

When I checked a month back,
A800 (front only) 12K.
A800 compatible rear sold at 2499/-
A800 front and rear combinedly sold at 15k.

I kind of felt there is no difference between A800 and A800s from the price point just that 25% discount on the website is a marketing gimmick.

I was looking for a dual Dashcam, thinking between the 70mai A800s and DDPAI X2S. Any preference either way on them?

from the specs, it looks like
70mai A800s : 4k front and 1k rear

DDPAI X2S : 2K front and 1k rear. Comes with Hardwire kit and snapshot button.

Also, wanted to know if either of them have motion triggered recording (as opposed to impact triggered) in the parking mode?
Greatly appreciate the inputs.

I've been looking for a MicroSD card for DDPai Mola N3 (Ordered it, yet to be delivered).

Thanks for this. It looks promising. I have ordered a 64GB one for my DashCam.

This looks interesting. Where ever I see, most recommendations are (Samsung and SanDisk's) High endurance MicroSD cards. The WD Purple though, seems built specifically for this purpose (Always ON, and data rewriting devices). This is relatively cheaper too. I'm curious why this isn't that famous.

Others market their products aggressively, but not WD. Their wares are the best I've used, be in HDD - or such cards. In fact my HDD is 10 years old

Isn't the max storage 32GB for G1W-C?
Did you had to change/tweak any settings to accommodate 64GB card?

I didn't do any tweaking. I tried a 64GB card and it worked. I have 2 cards which I swap around and both have been working well.
