Is that 6K for JBL gt5-a604 or Blau GTA 4 ch amp?
How much w/o B&W?

How are JBL gt5-a604 and Blau GTA 4 ch amp compared to Pioneer 6300 and Kenwood 8401?

Not different like chalk and cheese, but they have their own sound signatures.

The 8401 is comparable. According to @rocksterraghu, the 6300 is not up to scratch (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/produc...tml#post776967).

JBL GT5-A604: Dippy got it for 8K with b&w in Mumbai (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound-...tml#post699043), and it is 5K in grey in Bangalore

Is your sub single voice coil or dual voice coil? What type of box is the sub mounted in?

With a sub of 300W and an amp capable of 200W@4/300W@2, you are quite well matched. However, another amp will not necessarily help you since you will be limited by the sub then. You could add a 500W rms mono block, but your sub will pump only 300W - or burnt itself out trying to do more.

A safer option would be to add another 4 ohms sub, wiring it in parallel with the current sub to get 2 ohms effectively, so that the current amp can dump 300W it is capable of. Another sub will double the surface area, and you are likely to perceive more loudness in the lows.

i am having jbl gto 937 6" X 9" ovals and a GT5-12" sub powered by jbl 75.4 amp.i am finding the setup a bit bright with the settings done on my amps.
how can i set it perfectly so that i make them sound a bit soft.
the GTO 937 are in small boxes at the rear and not on tray(infinite baffle)
the Sub is in ported enclosure. i fire it with REV sub settings on HU.(pio 5050)

EQ1 settings : L0 M(0-2) H(0-2)
EQ2 settings : LOW 80khz Q1
MID 500khz Q2
HI 10khz W2
SUB settings : 80 kHZ 0hz
HPF settings : 50-80 HZ
Sound retriever : 2
Loudness : MID

firstly I think you have mixed up kHz and Hz and maybe EQ and XO too.

Next start with all EQ settings being flat. then decide if you need to reduce the brightness.

XO for the sub (LPF) and for the front and rear (HPF) speakers can start at 80Hz.

Ideally one first tunes XO of the front speakers seeing how low the front speakers can go. The lower the better. 63Hz/12db is not uncommon.

Then one integrates the sub to the front speakers and lastly one brings in the rear fill.

Navin, the front speakers are normal 4 inchers Sony\Kenwood\Pio I think. Also in his case rear fills are powered by amp, he has rear sound stage as of now.

i dont have a good speakers in the front.they are sony coaxials 4" that fit in alto. what i feel is all sound coming from the rear. the brightness is so felt that i start getting irritated after a while. also with the same flat setting the radio doesnt sound good at all. for radio i have to increase the M to 2 and H to 4 ( EQ1 settings) and also SLA to 4. i feel the vocals are lost when i listen to radio or USB. with CD its fine.

Well the 4" sony are not great speakers so this phenomenon (all the sound comng from the rear) is understandable.

given that radio is a compressed format it will not sound the same as CD. one option is to store 2 different settings one for radio and the othe for CD in your HU's memory (if it has this feature).

ya i know those sonys are not good.they hardly sound with respect to the rear ones. as technocrat said rightly i am right now having a rear sound stage, that too with JBL it sounds bright. i am waiting for a GZ MK2 sub. i hope it makes a difference. also i am finding sources to cut my door trims perfectly to accomodate 6" illusion components

Amit a sub will have no impact on brightness of your ICE. Putting up comps at front might have depending on how bright you find them.
