The Motorola ROKR series (the original or version 2) is considered a failure by many. On a personal basis I would advice anyway to stay away from it.

Motorola ROkR E1 was actually a failure. Even Motorola Agreed to that.

But for the E2 which has just released the market has a different verdict.
The main problem with E1 was itunes which motorola removed along with several changes.
The new E2 is said to be the best music phone out there.

I use a blackberry; not listed as one of the options.

I also own a pda type phone - Zircon G88 which is being used by my mother.

I was reading this thread right from the beginning (the thread was started in 2004) and it still continues and will probably....this almost looks like chronicling the evolution of phones from 2004!

I am not into gadgets...use a SE k750i with a 1 GB memory stick and have the internet facility. Pic quality is good...mp3 quality is pretty good with the Mega Bass feature.

PS: You might faint if you hear about my monthly post paid mobile bill....it is just under Rs 225.

Outgoing calls a month: < 30
Incoming calls a month: roughly 900-1000

My mobile phone is the source of my bread and butter and jam...lol. Since I especially make house visits, patients call me on the mobile to request me to visit their houses/report on the progress of a patient/ask med advice etc.

Guys , I have been a SE fan and used only SE phones(both my wife and me) till now when I had to buy a Nokia, a basic 6610 i. I am presently in Africa and the decision was made based on widespread support and reliability of Nokia. the phone grew on me and is a relaible workhorse. the battery life is amazing and it takes minor falls in its stride. the siganl reception also seems to be pretty good. The menu though a bit longwinded is very useful. Foe eg. in a mesage it allows you to copy details like phone nos, e mail add etc to phone/address book. Great! However Ia m now planning to buy a Nokia N 91 or a SE 800 i. Can somebody who has used both the phones help me decide.

Thanks

between the two N91 is a clear winner but w800i is more user friendly, simple, cheaper and has got better camera.

N91 has a 4gig hardrive meaning faster seek times compared to flash memory. Uses a symbian OS, has wi-fi connectivity and a 3.5mm jack.

Overall I will vote for N91. If you decide for SE then better look at the same phone as K750i/D750i. WIll save you a few Grands.

Hi guys, I have got a nokia 6220. Its 2.5 yrs old but in a very neat shape. What is the approx value I should expect?
I want to go in for a new one with a mp3 player, 1.3mp camera, expandable memory. My budget is restricted and want to stick only to nokia. I have short listed the good old 6600 (with vga camera), nokia 6230i, or the 3230. Really confused.......Pls help in deciding guys.
Thanx
az

@autozealot
I suggest u get the Nokia 6series phones like 6230i or the 6630. But not the 6600 cuz its very old and outdated now, tho its got all the functions u need.

Also why don't u try Sony Ericsson. They are pretty cool as well.

Why don't u try setting the equilizer manually. Sounds much better. Mega Bass won't sound good on the OE earphones.

I would recommend 6230i if you use the phones basic features only.

otherwise 3230 is a good smart symbian phone but with Monaural Mp3 player. nokia 6630 is anytime much much better choice.

I have a O2 Atom, my wife has a Nokia 7610.

We are both changing phones. Me becuase I want a tactile keyboard atleast to make phone calls and the ability to make a phone call when the other hand is otherwise engaged.

My Atom hangs about once a month at most inopportune times. One hand operation is limited to say the least. My wife's 7610 is due for replacement with something more current anyway.

Other than the phone I need a PDA that can run Excel files and decent camera and is under 150gms and 55mm wide. My wife needs the best damn camera phone (but no flip phones).

My short list: Sony P990 for me and K800i or K800c for my wife.

1. Are there any Nokia or Windows phones that fit my needs.
2. Is there a better non flip camera phone than the K800 and what is the difference between the 800i and 800c?

Hi Navin

I feel sorry for you.

However, there are some credible alternatives available. Check out the Sony Ericsson M600i, which is a 3G phone with Pushmail, keypad, touchscreen, Office viewer and all the usual stuff. Looks good, and is not too expensive either at about Rs.18k equivalent.

The Nokia E61 is similar and looks okay in a very Nokia sort of way, but its one crappy piece of equipment. Stay away from Nokia's PDAs.

For windows phones, the iPaq with GPS, WiFi and EDGE seems like a good buy right now, but I'd wait till all the 3G Windows phones come out. Once you have 3G, WiFi and GPS built in you really dont need anything else........

Finally, if you manage to send your Atom across to me here I can try and get some tweaks done by the distributor here.

From your plight the first thing I will suggest is

1. Windows is not for you.

For you I will suggest Nokia N80 or E70. Or you can wait for N73 or N93.

N80

1. Has a keyboard (not qwerty though)
2. can make calls with one hand.
3. Will run excel files most probably with 3rd party apps.
4. has a decent camera
5. WEighs under 150 grams
6. Is under 55grams wide.

E70

1. Has a numeric as well as qwerty keyboard.
2 can make calls with one hand.
3 Will run excel files probably
4. has a decent cam
5. weighs under 150 grams.
6. Is under 55 grams wide.

For your wife. SE k800 is the right choice at the moment as its the only non-slider good camera phone.
