Alturas G4 had similar option and never saw one complaining about any niggle yet. Should work fine here too!

Options are less confusing to add and we can add things which we want and not be forced to buy a specific variant with features we don't need. 👍

1. Wireless CarPlay and Adaptive Cruise Control are both on offer. That's a win.

2. We didn't really get a good look at the rear, but it isn't looking like a deal breaker.

3. No ventilated seats is a given, otherwise they would have been name checked.

4. 0-60 kmph time of under 5 seconds should mean that 0-100 should hopefully also be around the 11 second mark. Which will be fast for a SUV of this size.

5. Safari blue > XUV 700 blue. Look forward to the other colours.

6. Mahindra is promising a few more feature reveals in the coming weeks. That puts the prince announcement in October and means that the car won't really be available in any decent numbers till at least November.

Some of the features teased, like the 3d sound by Sony and the electrically deployed door handles, are listed as optional packs. Would have thought at least the top variant would get these as standard. Not feeling very optimistic about the pricing anymore.

Just hope they get the pricing right.
And as for the design,I have no complaints.

Looks like a promising car indeed, but interestingly, curtain airbags are available on the AX5 variant and side airbags are available only on the AX7. Normally it's the other way around where lower variants get torso airbags and higher ones also get curtains. Honestly I expected all 7 as standard but I guess that's asking too much.

The rest of the car looks promising though part of me wishes the dashboard leather and seats were jet black instead of beige (as they seemed in early teasers on a low brightness setting). That's not to say these don't look good.

So the XUV700 does 0-60 in 4.6 seconds with the most powerful engine in its segment - 0.25 seconds faster than the Harrier *. Doesn't seem worthy of being included in the first unveil video - to me atleast

Highly doubt that, because the MX variant gets the same 155hp mHawk tune. However, Mahindra revealed two different torque figures for the 185hp tune (420nm for MT and 450nm for AT), which shows that the AX will get both transmissions.

The 155 PS Diesel seems to be reserved for the entry level MX variant only. The AX Series gets the 185 PS tune.
All in all, it seems to be a great package, loaded to the gills with feature and going by previous reports here, it scores well on safety too. As long as they price it well, this has all the ingredients to replicate the success of the XUV 500.

Do remember, the Alturas was just a badge & grill swap. Ssangyong was a completely different brand outside India, even though they were part of Mahindra. If it's the same unit they were using in the Alturas, it should work fine but if it's not, then he's got no wrong in saying what he did. We see these niggles come up when manufacturers come up with new tech more often than not and I don't see this as an exception (although I hope I'm wrong).

Seeing it today, i have no doubt left in my mind that this machine was originally planned as new 2021 XUV 5OO but some change of strategy mid way and hola, we have got big brother 7OO. To be fair, looks good. For me, first deal breaker would have been missing AWD. Looking forward for prices now.Hopefully if that are within my expectation, i will be owning my first Mahindra !

Notice in the second photo there is someone sitting but no hands on steering wheel and it's steering on it's own. Also you can see a faint green steering wheel sign in the cluster on the upper right side of the center 3d model of the road and traffic.
