Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

For the first time, my Fiesta delivered a mileage of 15 kms/ltr. Actually the last time I refilled the car took 37 ltrs for tankfull for which it ran 604 kms. Is it the System G effect which I had restarted a couple of fills back. Attached pic. Pls note the tank fill DTE numbers.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

VW jetta 2010 model - MT-

Though i have reported in this thread earlier, just wanted to update that

Being absolutely light on the Acc gives close to 15-16 in city traffic while gives over 25 in highways. At a stretch it showed closed to 27kmpl where i was doing something between 60-80 @ 5th.

@ 120-140 the FE is around 19.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

^^^I assume you have a diesel Jetta. If not, I am dumping my Baleno and buying the Jetta-P, given the astounding FE.

And how is the above mentioned FE figures calculated ? I guess this is via the runtime FE display on the dash, since you mention "it showed close to".

What is the FE via traditional method of checking aka fulltank-to-fulltank or auto-cutoff to auto-cutoff ?

Wow that is something.

I have a Fabia 1.2 MPI, run 5k km. Here are my FE numbers:

City FE (80% slow moving traffic, Average speed of 15-20kmph) : 12.5-13.5 kmpl
Highway (speeds of 100, average speed 65-70kmph with slowdowns, bad patches & bumps) : 16.5-17.5 kmpl

The above numbers are over a few long trips (~1500 km combined) & 5 months of B'lore driving. 2 people, limited luggage, AC on 50-75% of the time.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

During my last trip to Goa (from Bangalore) my Swift D returned 20.9kmpl. Includes 2 days of full AC drive in Goa and some spirited driving from Bangalore to Hubli.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My SX4 AT gives 8.5-9kmpl in the city. On most highway trips I get about 13-13.5 kmpl. However, the last time when I went to Hassan, I ensured my RPM was always below the 2500 mark and I got 14.5. All these are with the AC on all the time.

By traditional method of fulltank to fulltank the difference is max 1km/l. And its a diesel jetta. The petrol jetta is a mosquito. Not to be driven but squashed.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

60000 kms done - my 6 year old City CVT gives me 8.5 (inching up to the 9 mark with better roads currently) in town. Long trips fetch me between 12 & 13 kmpl. Method used - full tank to full tank (and auto cut off always).

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Indica V2 DLS Feb-2003 Model (~101100 kms)

City : 14.5-15.5 kmpl
Highway : 17.5-18.5 kmpl

But for the smell/thrill of the newer cars, How do I get rid of the loyal beauty ?!?

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

@wilful, this is the Honda City AT, right ? If so, I am surprised at the FE - the 2nd gen Honda Citys were supposedly very FE and my assumption was that the AT was also good on FE.
But your figures in Cochin are not very encouraging. I am glad you mentioned this because my friend has been eyeing a 2007 Honda City-AT and I was of the idea that he
will get atleast 11kmpl in Chennai traffic (assuming the Honda City-MT returns 13kmpl). But I guess I was wrong.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

@supremeBaleno- yes. This is a 2nd gen Honda City CVT. The figures have been more or less constant over the years. It did drop a mite when the Cochin roads were at their worst. I don't know if it is the way I drive, or whether my vehicle is an exception. You could check whether other CVT owners are getting more. 9 I reckon is the best one can hope for in the urban chaos.
Oh- and I must add - this is with the A/C on 100%of the time.

310 Km - 80% City, 20 % Highway. 100% A/C - 24 liters.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I've been tracking the mileage of my '04 Esteem & '07 Getz GVS using the fuel log app. Here is what i get using the tankful method & average of the mileage from the last 3 fill ups:
1. Getz GVS - 13.55kmpl
2. Esteem VXi - 12.95kmpl

The Getz was never returning more than 12 in the city until i started servicing it at Kothari instead of Sanjay Hyundai! And the fact that it now delivers more than the Esteem is surprising to me since i was expecting it the other way round.
