Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Hyundai Santro XL (2006) has 62,000 KM on the odometer and returns me around 14.5 KMPL in peak traffic (Example: Hinjewadi to Pune City drive) with AC on 50% of the times.
On highways, with sedate driving (speeds ranging from 60 to 90 kmph - depending on traffic situation and road conditions) it usually returns around 18KMPL with AC on 50% of the time. I always measured the fuel efficiency by tank full to tank full method!

2 Wheeler: My Royal Enfield Bullet 350 UCE returns runs around 44 kms per liter. The efficiency is more or less same for city as well as highway driving.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Hello,

In my recent trip - Mumba - Lonavala - Lavasa - Lonavala - Mumbai following are the statistics:

Total Distance: 535 KMS
Roads: Mumbai - Pune Expressway & Lonavala - Lavasa with 70 kms of Ghats.
Car: Maruti WagonR K10
Mileage: 18.5 KMPL.
Driving Style: Moderate (less than 100 KMPH)

Am I happy? Certainly. after experiencing mileage of 11 - 12 in city, figures of 18 - 19 brings wide smile on my face .

Thanks,

First of all sorry, for the delayed response, I have been travelling for some time now.

On your query ... Its takes around 1 hr 15 min in the morning provided i leave before 8.00 am and anywhere between 1hr 30 min to 1 hr 45min in the evening. (In the monsoons 2 hrs is not uncommon).

I am praying for a diesel automatic hatchback.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 2006 Petrol Hyundai Verna surprisingly gives me 11.5-12 in the city and 15-16 on the highways.
On the other hand my 2005 Getz gives my around 7-7.5 kmpl.

Both of them are maintained extremely well and run synthetic engine oil.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

The 2011 Diesel (1.4 L) Altis of mine gives avg of 15Km/L easy even when I'm not driving it in a way to get more miles to every litre...I have to say though, the performance is nowhere near as good as Petrol Altis but still ok

Surprisingly, on my run from Delhi to Hisar sometime back it gave me average of 23 Km/L

My 2007 Civic Manual gives about 11-11.5 kmpl in Delhi Ncr traffic.

Innova Diesel 2009, gives 11 in the city and 12.5 -13 on the highway.

Swift Vdi 2009 : 15 in the city & 16.5 -17 on the highway.

Fortuner 2010 gives 10.5 kmpl in the City & 12.5-13 kmpl on the highway.

Corolla Altis 2009, Manual: 8.5 in the city & 11 on the highway. Dunno why..

Cheers!!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 2009 i20 1.2 Asta is giving me around 11-12 kmpl in Kolkata's traffic and around 15 on highways.

My 2011 Honda City 1.5V is giving terrible mileage, 7.5 in city traffic and around 10-11 kmpl on highway.

2010 Jazz giving me 10-11 in city and around 14-15 on highways. I was expecting a bit more from it.

2009 Hyundai i10 1.2 Kappa Sportz gives around 12-13 in city. No highway usage of it.

2011 Hyundai i10 1.2 Kappa2 Magna giving around 14 in city and 17 on highway! Why is both the i10's mileage different?

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 2008 swift dzire ZDI is giving me 15-17 kmpl in Mumbai's traffic. And on highways it delivers around 19-21 kmpl with speeding at 110 km/hr to 130 km/hr. If moderately driven it gives me 23-24 kmpl. All this with 100% AC on.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2008 Chevy Spark giving about 13-13.5 Kmpl in city with 100% AC on, without AC gives a mileage of about 14.5-15 Kmpl. Never took my Spark on the highways.

2009 Chevy Optra LT TCDi gives a mileage of about 12 Kmpl in city driving conditions with AC on, a difference about 1 Kmpl without AC in City driving conditions. Mileage on the highway with & without Air Con goes up by about 1.5-2 Kmpl.

2010 Chevy Cruze, mostly driven on highways provides me with a mileage of around 13 Kmpl with Air con, which without the Air con goes down to 11.5-12 Kmpl, used very less for city driving, cant really comment on the city mileage figures.

2012 Sx4 ZDi is my daily drive car gives mileage figures between 15-16 in City driving conditions with Air Con, had my first service a couple of days back, i believe the mileage figure should go up from now on !!

aerodynamics affect mileage on the highways. hence the drop in mileage when windows are open.

Yes it actually does on highway speeds with the windows rolled down the aerodynamics are affected as said above. Maybe some of the senior pros can shed more light on this fact and explain in detail about the technical aspects of this.

Wow! I have a 2007 Spark and I get 8-10 kmpl max in the city traffic. On highways I manage around 14-15.
And I always drive spiritedly Love redlining her.

Butttt on a recent 600 km trip I completed the trip and the fuel gauge was still at a slightly more than 1/4th mark! That's the best I have managed. 670km on a tankful. This was on good roads with very sedate driving. 80 km/hr in 5th mostly.
Otherwise my tankfuls last around 450 kms.

100% ac always.

A drop in the mileage with seriously high speeds with rolled down windows may be true but at a more sedate 80 kmph mileage is more without AC.
