Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

The fuel light came on this morning after 932.8km. I filled up and it took 51 litres of diesel, so I'm getting about 18.3 kmpl in city driving.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I fill the tank each time I visit the pump and I measure full tank to full tank. My Alto 800 steadily gives 15.5 to 16 kmpl.
My daily driving condition is mostly in bumper to bumper traffic, moving inches, wasting petrol in idling. I drive with my windows rolled up, and A/C always on.
Since my measurement is always full tank to full tank, the peaks usually average out, and the highest mileage I have recorded is 17.2 kmpl.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Polo GT
Highway mileage: 14.5-15 kmpl when driven with light foot
City: 7 kmpl in terrible traffic

These numbers are extreme conditions - best case on highway and worst case in city.

Since my car is still in run-in period havent been able to push much. But I noticed from intermediate trip average reported that the rpm sweet spot is around 2k-2.2k rpm in 7th cog wrt mileage. While coming down ghat section at Mahableshwar I even saw 20 kmpl after covering a distance of 30 kms.

The city mileage I mention was in Bangalore during morning office rush hour.

When driven in Mumbai during non-peak hours, I get about 10-11 kmpl.

In city I usually drive with a light foot.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 2008 Swift VDi gives somewhere around 16-17 kmpl in the city. On the highway it gives 20kmpl.
I have been driving with sane speeds and acceleration with baby on board, so I am able to get these figures.
Prior to marriage, it was around 14-15 Kmpl in the city and 17 kmpl on highways
And yes all these figures are with AC on all time, as I am not comfortable with the traffic sounds and highway breeze

Completed another tankful. The mileage was 19.001 kmpl in my vento 1.6 tdi with 80% on city traffic, short travel of few 100 mts, idling and 2 trips on a 2 laned highway for 300 Kms with heavy traffic. Was as usual gentle on the acceleration but not awfully sedate. I was maintaining legal speeds with quick but not heavy acceleration.
Did a villupuram- Salem back and forth trip today. Got FE of 20.5 kmpl with average speed of 75.7 kmph and 72.8 kmph ( 2 hrs 33 min and 2 hours 40 min for 195 Kms ).
Coming from optra magnum which used to give 16.5kmpl in ultra boring mode (aka 90-100 kmph with very slow accelerations ),these figures take me to cloud nine as I now spend for fuel from my pocket.

Completed a quick run to Hassan and back (202 Kms from my house) to attend a function. Took 2h 30mins each way. Did Some relaxed driving, speeds varied between 110-120 kmph. Tyre pressure 32psi all round. Minimal gear changes.

JP Nagar - NICE Road(Gottigere) - Nelamangala - Kunigal - CR Patna - Hassan. Hardly any traffic throughout, except a little on the NBTL Toll road till NICE Junction on the return.

My 2014 Verna CRDi managed to give me 21.3 kpl. Absolutely delighted. 😬

Heading to Sakleshpur on Sunday. Will report again.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: XUV 500
Highway Mileage: 16-18km/l
City Mileage: 10-11km/l

AC is always on. Never tried mileage without AC. Office is just 3 Kms from home and that entire 3 Km has heavy traffic with car never reaching above 2nd gear.

Before XUV, I had a Chevrolet Beat Petrol and use to get 10-11 km/l in city and around 15-16 on highway.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

With full AC Brio MT gives 11 kms in Delhi when in traffic. In normal Delhi conditions it gives 12-12.5 and if I take it smoothly then goes to 13-14. On highways it gives 15-17 depending on my style.
