Whenever I fill my car with pertol in bunks other than Shell, I see a marginal change in my engine sound. My vehcile is smooth and less noisy when I use Shell. Thast how different Shell petrol is. Close to 1 year I have been a regular visitor to Shell petrol bunks for all my vehicles.

Best part is that I dont have to stand outside and police the salesman with serious looking face to ensure that I am not taken for a ride. The shell petrol bunk gives you receipt for the exact amount of petrol filled in to your vehicle from the vending machine itself. So the chance of you getting conned is minimal. I just ensure that the initial Zero adjustment is done.

They source from MRPL owned by ONGC to the best of my knowledge.
There may be almost nil adulteration once the trucks leave refinery till the shell bunks , unlike PSU bunks

Even at 51.75, it's cheaper than pune. Shell regular unleaded petrol costs 52.55 in Hinjewadi, Pune and this is outside pune city limits. It would be more in city limits.

For a change, fuel price in Bangalore is little cheaper than some other city

Shell Normal (51.xx) and super (53.xx) fuels price difference is less these days, They push super fuel too much, they are playing some tricks for sure.

I found these days (last 2-3 fills) Shell normal is not as good it used to be. Still Shell Super is good fuel compared to others. I started System G and Shell Normal or BP. In my recent Dubare-Keral trip I filled normal Petrol in Sultan's Bathery and its 47.XX I guess.

Ravi.

The price of Shell super as of yesterday in Chennai was Rs 55.65 per litre. This is Rs 4.69 costlier than HP Power that costs Rs 51.26. The customers at Shell have dwindled so much that I am worried of getting stale stock now, hence started to fill for just Rs 500 at a time, instead of my earlier practice of full tank.

Strangely the number of two wheelers continuing to patronize Shell do not seem to have dropped much!

Ravi,

I have been regular to Shell bunks for a long time now. Its common practice for them to push Shell Super, they have been doing it since a long time. However, now they seem to push that little bit harder citing the marginal price difference. I don't think they are up to anything unethical.

Also, can you please elaborate on what you mean by the quality of Shell normal not being up to the mark these days? Will be good to know for sure what exactly you have experienced as I use Shell's normal unleaded petrol for both my cars.

Thanks,
gpa
