Rs.50 for fixing! Seems to be a bit too much.

Snaronikar, did you try with one OE and one GE bulb and check the difference?

They are priced a little more than Osram Silver star which costs Rs.350 a pair.

Would this work for Swift.
I am looking for a upgrade to my VDi without "large" difference to wattage.
Just concerned about damaging electrical stuff...

Any shops towards Indiranagar/Airport Rd would be of great help.

Avoid those +80% or 90% bulbs. In indian conditions where you do frequent high low on highways, the life of such bulbs is very less. You would need to replace a bulb after around 100 nights of usage.

The distributor is Nilesh Gandhi - 9880896117. Ask him for directions to the shop. It's on JC road on the first floor. It's on the road towards Lalbagh gate and not towards town hall side.

Yes, I have tried with one GE bulb and another with OE. Infact the service centre guy himself showed this and there was a difference which was noticable.

@ Jaggu: Thanks for the tips. Will try to do the same.

@ others: I felt Rs.50 was OK. Will take care of this from next time.

Raajiv, go for Philips 100w/90w bulbs. They cost around 250 bucks a pair IIRC (maybe lesser). Along with that a wiring kit (from Lucas) should cost around 500 bucks. Installation another 100 - 200 bucks.

you can procure the above mentioned at Mahavir on G.P. Road. Total cost with bulbs and wiring kit with installation wont cost 800 bucks to 1k max.

Can anyone suggest some easy way to remove the glass from the body of the headlight? I've opened one, but its so difficult as they are glued together with some sort of sealant.

You can get bosch HID Kit for around 8k-10k. Don't know if they are fake or genuine. Check out your local dealers or you can also get some details on eBay India - Online Shopping Mall: Free Auctions, Shop/Buy/Sell Mobiles, Cameras, Apparel, Computers, Bollywood Clothes & Indian Products
