@Dhruv45in- are you sure you booked the bike in Feb Looks like you have got the delivery pretty early as compared to others. I booked mine on Feb 1st as well buy there is no sign of the bike.

Yes, just checked my order form and I booked this one on 14-Feb. This booking was done in Chandigarh. I had previously booked an Interceptor in December last year in Mandi, HP but cancelled it as there was no sign of the bike till Feb and booked this one in Chandigarh

I booked it in Mumbai during end of Dec and there is still no sign! My showroom guy said end-June when inquired a week back. Looks like we are on opposite sides of luck.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

I booked my Interceptor on 9th Feb and should be getting my bike on the 1st April. The bike was ready to be picked up on the 25th actually, but then I wanted a couple of accessories to be fit before I took delivery and they are taking some time to get them.

The colour I booked was the Ravishing Red but was willing to buy any colour that was available. They got an Orange Crush for display last week and called me asking if I was interested in taking delivery immediately. I agreed and went to the showroom, paid the amount and gave them the list of accessories I needed. They have got most of them fixed except for the fork gaiters, sump guard and pannier racks. They should be getting them tomorrow is what I was informed. Once they get those fixed tomorrow, I'll pick up the bike on Monday.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

I just had a chat with the Royal Enfield Brand Showroom in Bandra, Mumbai regarding my Interceptor 650 Ravishing Red booking on December 25th. Around Jan they had estimated delivery in the 2nd week of April but today they said a vehicle has not yet been allotted and they can't commit on a delivery day - that it depends on how many customers cancel their bookings.

Given that the bookings are fulfilled basis a queue I would have thought it would be easy to estimate delivery schedules, apparently not.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Finished a 300 km road trip from Chandigarh-Manali day before without any issues with the bike. Noticed the bike getting hot but nothing serious or alarming. The gear shifts are a bit hard I will get them checked during first service. Still getting used to the sitting position and I think I will align the handle bar during service. Covered the 300 kms in 8 hours with regular stops of 10 mins after 1 hour of riding.

I have done 500 Kms and the bike is due for its first service. Will not repeat what others have said as everyone knows by now the pros and cons of this machine. However I would like to mention that the heat management is very good.. have been riding to work in bad traffic conditions without any noticeable discomfort.
Also I have made a few functional customisations to suit my ergo needs.
1. Added a wider and taller handlebar (this required changing clutch and accelerator cables)
2. Modified the seat to provide more comfort for both rider and pillion
3. Added Backrest, rear luggage plate and saddle stay from Zana
4. Fabricated footrest plates for pillion to save her shoes and the bike's end pipes.
Next in line is adding highway footpegs on the engine guard for that relaxed riding position during long straight highway rides.
Will keep updating as it happens.
Enjoy the Before and after pictures

Hi, the seat really looks good. Where did you get it done? And the cost pls? Is it Perfect seats in Andheri by any chance?

Talking about stripes, here is a different take I found on insta, white stripes on tank sides of Orange crush interceptor.
Your post was about Baker express, this one is for orange crush, sharing it just for looks.

Not sure about this incident, but last few years, in general, i have seen a lot of cases of negligence, lack of knowledge, or even intent to learn some basics, petty goofups etc from the mechanics as well as OWNERS side and eventually the motorcycle gets all the blame. Do not mean to say motorcycles are perfect these days but as a rider we should have some basic know-how and a periodic inspection, thorough look after the bike is back from service, keeping eyes and ears open for something out of place, or some extra sound, would go long way in keeping bike healthy. plenty of case, where riders leave the headlight on without engine running and blame battery for quality, cases where brake pad metal is in contact with rotor and rider is unaware, exhaust bolts are loose, air leaking, bike is sounding much different, badly adjusted clutch cable play and blaming gears for hard shifts, and so forth. As a rider, we do need to make small effort in understanding the motorcycle, type, configuration, etc and keep a close watch on it. Will definitely help to and extent in keeping the troubles low and identifying moles before the become mountains.
the 650 twins is made to a budget, so there would be some compromises for sure. Also, its become a trend to bash motorcycles in general these days and especially more so when Royal Enfield is involved. Call is spoilt for choices, fanboy-ism, whose rocket is faster or eyeballs/hits/likes for the vlogs.

This is what the Vlogger mentions in the comments sections-
"The bike has been fully repaired and the damaged part instead of repairing has been fully replaced.......RE took quick action and fixed it up the very next day......"

Replacing the damaged part the very next day is pretty quick!

The issue is that its not a realistic illustration. Means the white bands in real life will not appear as straight as it is visible here. It would, if the tank was of classic 500 or machismo or electra, BUT not interceptor as the tank here has a recess in the design for knee. So the white Strips would follow the contour of the recess and not in straight line like how it is. The final result may not look as appealing IMO.
