Currently a zip tie and insulation tape is doing the job of keeping them distant.
But, does it warrant a replacement?

p.s. sorry for the potato quality photo...
The cable should not be touching the exhaust pipe. There is a cable tie at that location that keeps the cable tied to the frame away from the exhaust. I guess in your case it was not there from the factory/ broken/ opened during some accessory fitment.
Just use a zip tie and tie the cable to the frame away from exhaust. Simple.

Received this headlight mod on Whatsapp. Looks so cool. It's all LED and DC, the forward mentions. Drool!

I just want a clear lens, diamond cut reflector and an LED setup which works only when the engine is on. Is it too much to ask, Royal Enfield?

I'm finding that the flyscreen seems to be creating a lot of turbulent air ... anyone experienced this? I'm going to remove this and try the bike.

Looks fantastic! Do you have full picture of the bike?

One thing I don't understand is why does RE not offer these as official customization accessories? Even things like alloy wheels.

Hi, I had asked for the full picture. Here it is (but rear only)! No full frontal pic, sadly.

Came across this. Makes me feel proud of the fact that an Indian manufacturer now competes with the biggies of the motorcycling world.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Went to my Showroom on Sunday to collect my HSRP Plates and came across this

It belongs to the owner of the showroom. The main highlight here is the S&S exhaust system. Probably one of the first ones in India. The exhaust baffles were installed.

Link to video clip:

Aside from that he had Timsun tyres and what looked like a custom LED headlight setup. He also wrapped his tank in a brushed aluminium finish.
He also had some aftermarket footpegs, a custom single seat, full luggage rack provision, a headlight switch, additional front mudguard and what looked to be much longer suspension travel on the front.

^^ An abomination in my opinion, its like tying wheels on my grandma and calling her a wheelchair.

If any offroaing is intended, please get a vehicle designed to do the job.

That is being harsh! Its a decent attempt to customize the bike to ones usage, taste. There aren't much options out there if one is considering a bit of offloading. Himalayan is puny engine in comparison and unrefined. Versys and V storm are 8.5 and 9.5L. baby gs is tiny, vibey and overpriced. The interceptor 650 makes for a decent donor/project bike esp considering the budget. Its got a good engine & gearbox with good low end torque, which suits offroad requirement. The frame seems strong and there is good ground clearance. Improve the suspension & riding geometry and we have a good poor-mans scrambler to have a bit of fun offroad too. Here are some other interesting mods people have tried.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Found this video of a British Gentleman who went to town on polishing his engine and gearbox casings. The results are excellent. The reflection on the engine casings almost matches the chrome on the exhaust pipes.

Planning to sit down one Sunday and try do so myself because honestly the finish on these parts are very poor.

This guy also does a lot of DIY videos and maintenance videos for the 650.

Agree, have been feeling this after installing the smaller fairing, thought of checking with others, good you raised it. Getting used to riding with the same, what about others?

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Saw this new clear headlamp unit in the latest batch of Interceptors in the showroom in Chennai. Looks nice, same unit of the current Himalayan.

Asked for a replacement cost for my Int., no information yet.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Hello all.

Got a call from Teknik Motors to take delivery of my bike. I asked them to fit fork gaiters and sump guard but the sales person said it can be done during first service only. I told him I want them installed when I take delivery but he insisted that can be done only in the first service!

Should I insist on getting them fixed during delivery or should I follow the sales person's advice?

Thank you.

Interesting. I am taking delivery of mine on Tuesday from Teknik and when I went to check the bike last Thursday, the guys asked me if I want any accessories. I said I will get them done during the first service though.

Maybe the fork gaiters are time consuming and hence?
