This is spot on! From having teased alloys as an accessory way back during the launch, to having test bikes with the alloys, RE has done everything but actually release the damn alloys!

A v2.0 for the Int/CGT makes loads of sense. USD forks, alloys, LED headlights, hopefully redesigned lighter end-cans, are a few of the upgrades I’d like to see.

Personally, being a current Hunter350 owner, I really hate the new switchgear that RE debuted on the J-series bikes. It’s quite hard to reach, for using the indicators, the rotary-style High-low & pass switch is a pain to use, and overall, seems un-ergonomic. Hoping if/when the Int/CGT get updated, they don’t get the same rotary style switchgear.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

A few days back, the front tyre of my Interceptor got punctured. Had to replace the tube but couldn't find the exact size. I've put 100/80-18 instead of 100/90-18.

Was wondering if 100/80-18 would work or should I change to 100/90-18?

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Found a Metro-Continental Contigo branded tyre available in tubeless 100/90 R18 though it's a 56P rated one as compared to the 56H rated Ceat Zoom Cruze's. Changed over to it for the front after the stock Pirelli's ran bald at 9K. Haven't ridden much but first impressions are good; couldn't feel the head weave/wobble over road stripes and pebbles that were ever present with the Pirelli's. And I feel it looks better too

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Guys, planning on riding from Mumbai to Delhi NCR on a 2019 interceptor done 8500km. Will be my longest ride since 2019. I was a noob and never planned for my 2019 rider mania, just winged it.

Have a shad topbox and sw mototech drybag350 as a tail bag and a viaterra tank bag. Bike is stock except for added windshield and top box carrier. Have a battery connected sae type tyre inflator. Do have full safety gear.

Kindly advice on the spares to be carried, and availability.

My interceptor has been fairly trouble free, other than a one time front disc brake holding bolt failure and wheel lock up at 100kmph on NICE road. Bike has been laid up for 6 months every year with all precautions, all timely service done. The last service included usual oil, filter, air filter change, fork oil change they never checked the tappet any way even on on insisting.

Your inputs are welcome.

Happy motoring.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

My new Interceptor 650

This journey started on a very casual note. I had been wanting to getting an Interceptor 650 for sometime.Internet surveys, test rides, reading up on Teambhp sessions later, I went to the Royal Enfield showroom here and booked a vehicle on 09/01/2023.Booking amount was Rs. 20,000 and was promised a tentative delivery date of End March. The supermeteor was launched on 16 th of Jan and the confusion in my head started. RE has a very robust no cancellation policy for customized motorcycles which I was aware of. I took a chance and wrote a mail to corporate RE asking if a transfer of the booking was possible and received a very polite no. The dealer then said transfer was very possible and rocked the boat.He told me to send him a mail asking for transfer of booking to a Supermeteor and i did the same. As I was waiting for an update on the same, my Sales advisor called me on 27 th, a flat 18 days after booking, and announced the arrival of my Interceptor chrome.
After a trip to the showroom on the 27 th and a PDI, I transferred the balance payment to the showroom.
The only sore point during the whole exercise was the zero availability of accessories in the showroom. Nothing!!
I took delivery of my bike on Saturday, 28/01/2023.
I have availed of extended warranty, RSA, full insurance from Iffco-Tokio and it came to a total of Rs. 3,74,532-/

She's an absolute stunner sir! The MK II and the Mr. Clean on the Inty and the GT respectively are arguably the most beautiful looking colour schemes for the twins (Apart from the 120 Year Anniversary Edition Twins, that absolutely stole my heart). I would suggest that you get a PPF done at the earliest to preserve its sheen. Wishing you many more happy more happy miles!

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

It is a week now since the purchase and all i can say about the bike is WOW. 700 kms and first free service done today. All i can infer from this week of riding the bike is RE has ironed out most of the flaws which were inherentlythere. The grunt, the poise, the handling is spot on. My other bike, Highness 350 feels like a plastic toy now. I wanted to get PPF done and contacted 3M.They said the film they use is too hard and thick and hence they do not do it for bikes. Now to check out the power beyond 4000 rpm.

I have coated my tank with ppf. It has held up well after 3 years and has saved the tank from plenty of scratches. Just enquire at another 3M centre, they might be willing.

Happy motoring.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

My Interceptor has been idling for 2 years now as I was out of the country. Got my dead battery replaced with an Amaron battery that was recommended by the service center and then thought of taking a short ride. Much to my horror, I discovered that the brakes just wouldn't work when started riding my bike. Anyone has any idea as to what could be wrong?

To think in simple terms - anything from piston jammed at master cylinder to caliper pin to be greased to jammed brake pads are some of the common issues I can think off. Check if the rotor plates are heating up which is due to jammed brake pads.

Also check if which one of front or rear or both brakes are ineffective please.

Either case, take to ASC to fix the issue sir; let them decide if the issue is simple or complex one with...the ABS unit!

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Looks like RE is finally going to offer alloys for the 650 twins If the report by Autocar India can be believed then we may be able to see alloys cladding 650 twins running on tubeless tyres in the next 8 weeks.
Here is the link to the article: https://www.autocarindia.com/bike-ne...ls-soon-427282
Introduction of alloys with tubeless tyres is the most-asked-for accessory by everyone alike since the day these bikes were launched back in 2018. I have come across so many people (me included) both online as well as offline putting off the purchase just because of the fear of getting stranded somewhere because of the puncture on the spoked wheels.

ZigWheels also says, price hike could be around Rs 12,000 for this update. Great news if it indeed sees the light of day for both existing (if it could be retrofitted) and prospective buyers alike!

I saw the news too, but the excitement was short lived because RE is notorious for switching now back to 17" wheels!! Even if we consider shifting to 17" wheel the parts compatibility may be a question.

So, the milestones I'm seeing are:
1. First wait to see the alloy wheel
2. Then determine whether it's a 17" or 18"
3 If 18" let's see if it's a direct fit to our model
4. If 17" then let's determine if it can be retro-fitted/converted to fit
5. Then let see if dealers can comply delivering just the alloy wheels (they're unable to get a sump guard until now)
Only after this...whew!!

Re: My midlife crisis fix : 2022 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Hey fellow BHPians,

I have been itching for an upgrade from my current Dominar 400 2018 model. Clocked 17000km so for which has mainly been on the highways.

I have started riding much more than i used to. One ride a month of approx 700-1000km is what i have started doing.

I have test ridden the INT 650 and the KTM adv 390, my heart wants the adv 390 but my mind says lets go in for the INT 650.

I feel that the adv 390 isn't much of an upgrade from what i already have.
I loved the fast revving engine, the seating posture and the crazy tech this bike has to offer.

on the INT 650, i loved the smooth refined engine. The seating posture is something i was not too comfortable, but i guess that can be sorted with some modifications to the seat/handlebars. The wind blast was the thing i hated the most.

I may choose to retain the Dom 400, i have modified it a fair bit to my liking.

Rider profile :
Age : 38 & married with a kid.
Lcoation : Bangalore
Height : 5'5"
I prefer sticking to the tarmac, but would love to explore the hidden roads. Would someday want to learn the art of riding trails/offroads. (can the INT 650 be modified as an off-roader?)

I'd like you guys to give me your thoughts on this. And help me decide.

Cheers!
