If I am not wrong, he must have got this from eBay. I got mine from there. Its a pull-back action toy rather than a miniature. Detailing is not great e.g. there are no details in the headlight, the alloy design is generic and not matching the original etc. But its still nice to have.

I have mine installed on the dashboard of my other car. Here's how it looks:

PS: Mahindra merchandise shop at Expo did had miniatures of XUV among others. I am trying to procure them in Mumbai. Haven't figured out how to get Mahindra Merchandise in Mumbai yet.

The ones available at M&M's stall at AETMS 2014 had equally poor detailing, and were retailing for about Rs.250 IIRC. Didn't like how they looked.

No Buddy, I am yet to be a member of the XUV family and purple club. I got this from EBay and also a Fortuner Scale model for a price of 350/- INR.

You are right SDP, even though the detailing is not that great, it is nice to have in front of your eyes. Even though you own the real muscle, I should get a feel that the baby is in front of us all the time. Probably all the XUV owners would love to look at it all the time.

Also let me know if you get a hand on the scale model from Mahindra. Would love to have one

And yes, to buy TATA genuine accessories, there's no need to drop a mail to any VP or anyone else.. they cost the same, pre-tax. Something M&M should learn from ? Nah .. don't think so. A company who lowers their GC to evade tax, has lowered their ethics, in my opinion, that's why they don't mind the dealers making a kill now and then.

LOL.

We had a Fiat and hence have a first-hand experience of Tata ASC

In Mumbai, check labour costs of various items at different Tata ASC e.g. labor costs for changing clutch, Brake Pads, Timing Belt, GC Kit upgrade etc etc. While the labour cost of a particular item was Rs. 4,500 in one TASS, it was Rs. 2,000 in another !! Shooting a mail to Tata made no difference except for them suggesting another TASS where they will get that item done at Rs. 2,000 labour cost !

There you go.

@ raj_5004: From your answer, friend, I guess you got the message loud and clear !
@ TheIndian: I was mentioning about spares, things that are material in nature. Labour costs can always vary depending on the kind of work done. TATA does have some std labour costs, but many are open ended as they cannot be automated. Hope you get the point.

Has M&M reduced the prices for XUV5OO?
Have not seen any corresponding news item.

I think he is referring to the proposed duty cuts in the interim budget.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

As per Pawan Goenka, ED & PRES- Automotive Sector, M&M - "For our SUVs like Scorpio and XUV it would be Rs 40,000 reduction in price, this is back of envelop calculation."

LOL
Now get this - we wanted to change Tata-Fiat approved GC kit at a Tata ASC. The total cost for the job was different at various TASC !!
And friend, by your logic, there is a difference between Spares and Accesories

In the interest of sanity, may I request all concerned parties to take the Tata sales/ASC/accessories discussion to a different thread or create a new thread? There may be value in what's being discussed but it doesn't belong to this thread if you read the title carefully.

The mahindra xuv page provides you with a nice snapshot of the feature list missing in w4 as against w6 and w8. On performance and comfort, it's almost the same setup across the board. Same engine, same suspension et all. It's only the creature comfort that differs.

Discounts are dealer specific and you may want to check with your nearest dealer. Now that the prices of SUVs are bound to come down, why not wait for a few weeks and see what's in store.

I own a W4, there are no difference in performance and ride quality, there are features which are missing. The only thing I really miss and is intelipark (reverse sensors) they are still not available as accessories for W4. Hope this info helps. Please let me know if you need any more information.
