No, this is applicable for only S-Cross 1.6. Oil pan is placed more lower than 1.3.

Are there any rumours, test mules, industry gossip about the S-cross automatic? My family is in the market for a new vehicle and we like the S-cross but want an automatic only. I have an Ecosport, and frankly, even after almost 5 years of the vehicle being in the market I still don't see a worthy alternative when it comes to price/VFM but its a little small and parents would like something a little roomier.

Maruti Suzuki is bringing the Vitara to India, probably in 2019. Expected to come in an AT variant and will differentiate with the S Cross in the features and hence will marketed a segment higher.

Talk of a disaster.

Brought my car to Nexa to get the Auto Dimming IRVM done.

The guys opened the A pillars, the sunglass holder, the section under the steering, front of the headliner, and can't figure out where the connections are supposed to be.

I'm standing here, looking at the hilarity of the situation since 1 hour. Now, the guys are watching YouTube videos to figure it out.

EDIT: if anyone can give any pointers, would be helpful. It's real painful to see the guys struggling, and I'm getting late as well. Been 1.5 hour for what they claimed to be a 20 minute job.

Hi Ts1506,

Had a quick question on Scross zeta's headlights. How is the throw and usability of the stock halogen headlamps?

Thanks.

Not that great. The beam is not that powerful and the throw just barely adequate.

I expected better, considering the on-paper configuration. Works fine in city, but it might be limiting on highways. The fogs are quite great though, good throw and a strong beam.

In one word - USELESS !

I myself am considering an upgrade of the bulbs to see if it makes any difference, else will go for 90/100 & relay soon.

The question is about the facelift scross. I believe the lights are halogen projectors now. Was that the case with the prefacelift scross too?

Update: They did fit the IRVM. It works, but I am not fully satisfied with the way they did things.

The original IRVM came with a proper plug and play connector, but they could not find the other end, where it's supposed to go. So, finally they used a wire tap from the music player power (I believe?). The mirror comes on with Ignition, and works as intended.

Visually, there is a small wire going up from the mirror. I believe the one on Alpha has a plastic trim to cover that up.

Coming to functionality, its an absolute godsend . Just one night drive, and I'm already feeling a lot better, not having to manually toggle, and the reflection issues of manual IRVMs.

Isn't the central locking button or the request sensor enough for the purpose ?

It is, but even after you unlock it from the central locking you need to press the button to open the boot. if the valet or the security guards know it,its fine, if not its difficult to get down and or give them direction on doing it.

If we have this on the remote it will be easier in these situations and also when you have more bags to place in the boot. I had this feature in Santro not on the remote but beside the fuel opening latch near the driver seat.

We have one slot on the remote which is not used , so was thinking if there was a way to accomplish this.

Thanks

I don't think that will be possible. In our old Sail UVA too, the boot lock mechanism was only a mechanical latch, no 2nd steps to it.

Here, even if you manage to invoke the electromagnetic switch remotely, the boot doesn't pop up a little like the Sail. You have to release the latch as well as pull the boot lid upwards for it to properly release. Otherwise it still remains in a half locked kinda state.

In cars like i20, which have a boot button on remote, as well as an electromagnetic release on the boot door, the remote button just unlocks the lid, it cannot actually open the boot remotely.

In the pre facelift scross is there any way to convert the parking lights (led) into DRL?
