I think changes are mostly cosmetic and is mostly concentrated towards the nose and tail.

1. Nose is a lot more sharper with additional cladding
2. Blacked out headlamps looks swell
3. Additional slats can be seen below near the air intake area
4. Tigor has a lot more going on on the bonnet
5. New rims look nice- has there been an upgrade too?
6. IMHO the car stood a tad taller

The 'T' badge has been blanked out and the drivers soon as they saw I was clicking the slowed down in traffic :-)

Will let the specialists comment more changes that may be be seen.

From the Bonnet Scoop in the Tiago in the first picture, looks like you caught the JTP Tiago and Tigor twins undergoing testing. These are not facelifts of the regular Tiago and Tigor, but high performance variants of these car made in collaboration with Jayem Autos and Tata Motors, hence JTP (Jayem Tata Performance, if I remember correctly). These cars have Tata Nexon's engine under the hood and will be India's most pocket friendly Performance Hatchback and Compact Sedan when launched.

These are the JTP twins and going by the TN 37 registration, these would be under test by Jayem Auto. Can't wait for Tiago JTP, this looks very tempting and hope that it shines from all the efforts that Jayem is putting into it.

Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

Guys is it worth buying the Tiago now or wait for the face-lift which may be launched in a month or two i guess?

Question to existing owners:
The service intervals are two times a year i believe. What is the average service cost for this car ?

If you are looking for a more powerful Tiago, then wait till November end, I believe Tata is planning to launch the Tiago JTP which is expected to come with the 1.2 ltr 3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 108bhp and 150nm of torque. It would be worth the wait IMO.

Yes service interval is as below:
1st service - 2 Months or 1500kms, whichever is earlier
2nd Service - 6 Months or 7500Kms, whichever is earlier
3rd Service - 12 Months or 15000Kms, whichever is earlier

Post that it is every 6 months or +7500Kms, whichever is earlier.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the speedy reply ! Actually on a tight budget, considering Kwid, but low - mid trim Tiago seems to have more value than topend Kwid 1L at similar price.

Any idea how much does the paid service cost ? For example on my Ford Ecosport, service interval is 1yr / 10k km whichever comes first and paid service typically costs 4.5 - 5k without alignment balancing.

Then go ahead with the mid trim Tiago, absolute VFM.

Coming to the service costs, go with AMC(including engine oil) if your running is high (approx 15k per year), else opt for P2P(wear and tear parts) which should cover most of the costs. I think on an average it should not cost more than 2-2.5k per paid service.

Try and extend your budget to the Tiago. My cousin picked up the top end Kwid early this year and is disappointed. He's contemplating switching over to a new car, but is worried about the depreciation hit.

Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

For folks in Bangalore, planning to book Tiago XZA upcoming weekend. Dealer quoted 27k discount on zero dep insurance and about 2k corp discount. He also agreed to throw in reverse cam worth about 6k.

Overall on-road cost comes to around 6.98L. Do you think this is the best offer or could squeeze in better deal?

My XZA in Pune in June came to 6.6: including reverse cam (the one costing 13k), 2+2 EW and 0-dep. I doubt the road tax differential should be as high as 30k since Pune is generously taxed.

Take a look at the "I booked my car" thread for recent Bangalore purchases; that should give you a better idea.

Thanks! I did take a look at that thread. Saw your post and some others. Just got the sales guy send me exact price and he shared the below.

Still feel this is tad bit higher!

Well; you've got AMC there for 8k so that's additional. But also the 6.5k for logistics which should be waived off. I just checked my invoice, the RTO charged for my car are 69k so there's your 20k diff.

If you can get the 6.5k waived off, I think you've got a fair deal. Tata is stingy with discounts on Tiago.

Excellent! Requested quotations from couple of other dealers as well. And pushing this guy for logistics charges waive off and reverse cam as free accessory.

Thanks again for your valuable inputs!

Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

Thanks to Gautam Jain for sending in his experience with Tiago. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

Quote:
I used to own a Tata Manza from 2011-2017 and currently own a Tata Tiago (2016 - now). None of my Tatas have been reliable.

My Tiago Diesel in a span of 23 months and 17,000 km approx. has below issues:
1) Engine A-Mount replaced 10 times, on paper it’s 4. Technician from Sanand Plant failed to diagnose the cause for failure.
2) Engine B-Mount replaced once. They don’t have any explanation as to why they replaced it.
3) Engine C-Mount going to be replaced (part in-transit), again no explanation given.
4) Steering Rack Column replaced (Common Issue).
5) Brake failure, according to TASC everything is normal.
6) Wheel bearing of front left side gone.
7) Both front struts replaced.
Haven’t covered everything, just the bits which I felt are the most important.
Mr. Jain also shared that his car has gone to the service centre over 27 times officially and he has lost count of the multiple other visits as well.

Quote:
Today had a word with Regional Manager of Mumbai, he said the parts will replaced FOC, but:
1) Diagnosis won’t be done.
2) Only this time it will be done FOC.
3) As I had raised issue when car was under standard warranty, but now the car is in extended warranty and Gold AMC. But it was TASC who had no parts, so it is their fault IMHO.
4) Just realised my car’s Gold AMC is till 10th October 2018.

Now my concern is since Tata is unable to diagnose the problems for 2 years now, who is supposed to be liable for further damages and cost of parts? I do have a strong email proof of Tata, CSM (+ Regional Manager) and one more head, not replying to my mail when I questioned why the mount is being replaced and why there isn’t a permanent fix to it.

I don’t know what to do now, hoping Bhpians to help.

Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

Feel bad for Gautam, it feels terrible when the issues keep on popping whenever it's taken to service center.

Not just Gautam Jain, I have seen some examples of Diesel Tiago's lying in Workshop due to Faulty Engine Mounts. If it's a specific batch related problem, Tata should address it free of cost in order to retain respect they have gained since Tiago's Arrival.

Contrary to Gautam's car, my Diesel Tiago has been reliable. The only issue I have faced is Diesel leakage underneath engine. The culprit here was a Faulty Diesel Filter. What's more, it gave up just after my warranty got over. Had to pay 2.2k for it.

Other than that, no major niggles have been discovered. While some irritants like Rattles, Low Pickup during startup, noise at idle, vibrations when revving are all there. I have got used to it.

Coming back to Gautam's Tiago, I think Tata should replace the car if they are not able to diagnose the problem. While I won't say Tata cars are reliable/unreliable, he being a Loyal Customer, the dealer should put in some effort to save his name rather then minting money and giving frustrations to Gautam.

Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

Has anyone got the extra 12V power socket installed in their tiago? There is one slot to the left of the existing 12V socket and one slot behind the handbrake.
