Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I booked a white interior in the hope of getting the car by this year, but I am getting it in April/May of next year. Also, I checked; the waiting period for a 3-door is three months, so if I book a 3-door, I will also get it next year in January. But if I wait, hoping there will be a cancellation for a 5-door, then I can get a 5-door by February. I am really confused.

The rear door handles are given in body colour by default from company.

Congratulations! It looks great, even with the steel wheels!

The MX3 comes without tweeters, right? And still, it sounds so good—wow! The other day, I was watching a Roxx customization video where they showcased the build quality of the Harman Kardon speakers. I can now relate your feedback to that.

Quick question about the black seats—are they better aesthetically, or do they offer improved cushioning and feel?

Oh, I was expecting some noise, but this seems more than I anticipated. It would be great if you could share more details once you take delivery of your AX7L. TIA!

Are you referring to the infotainment/music system's user interface, or does the center console (with its analog elements) also have lag?

Would you mind sharing the link if possible? The HK failed to impress me too. The audio system in XUV700 AX7L is another league.

Here is the video I was referring to; check around the 1:00 mark.

Quick correction, It seems to be the lower variant (MX5/AX5L) and not the AX7L, though.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

'Don't meet your heroes' - Never thought I will experience this. Have been the jeep fan from my child hood days and dreamt of owning one. Have shared my experience and dilemma with the roxx in the previous posts but here is the final experience I liked to share :

I wanted to take another test drive in a sober state as last time my family accompanied including my 6 year old son who is ecstatic about any Jeep which kind of didn't allow me to observe and evaluate the Roxx. Truth to be told, I was also very carried away by his excitment giving the jeep fan I already was since my childhood.

So with a clear intent in mind I walked into the showroom yesterday which had no rush and quickly got into the test drive Roxx. The car was a AX7L RWD Diesel MT (same one I drove before). Some additional observations :

1. Clutch travel is long (doesn't matter to me since I booked AT)
2. You literally need to struggle adjusting the driver seat if the door is closed given the tight space there.
3. I spent 5 mins trying to find a proper seating position but the biggest spoiler is the lack of under thigh support (I am 5.7). My baleno has better support. Will be a compromise for long distance travels.
4. This time I could feel the drive was jiggly as I drove in thick traffic and had to hard brake few times.
5. Felt like a bolero with upmarket interiors.

Conclusion:
Like most of the bhpians called out, this car CANNOT be your 'only' car. It sure adds to your status profile but from a practicality stand point it isn't there.

Have cancelled my booking few minutes back and will choose between the Creta and Seltos. Mine would have been the first Roxx in tbhp as I received the vehicle allocation on 4 October itself but put it on hold until I was sure this car meets my purpose. So glad I went for another test drive as things started settling in my head.

My sincere suggestion to those considering the Roxx as a creta alternative. Please take multiple test drives in different conditions (with family, solo etc.) so you can evaluate and come to a decision.

Wishing happy miles to those considering the Roxx.

Congratulations to your family on getting White MX3. White Thar Roxx looks really good with steelies and is a good candidate for our thread - (Cars that look awesome with steelies (steel wheels)).

I see that you purchased from VVC Motors in Hyderabad.
Can you share which VVC showroom is this?
My experience with VVC Kondapur has been below par. How was your delivery and buying experience with VVC?

Some sections in Hyderabad have bigger rumble strips which tend to shake the entire vehicle or make the car go left or right slightly if you are above 60 kmph. Have you had a chance to take the car on roads with those bad rumble strips (like the ones on old Mumbai highway when going from IIIT junction towards Lingampally)?

We will wait for real review of AX7L as you might be the first one in the forum to get AX7L.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Hi all, I took delivery of the Roxx on Saturday in Bangalore - Stealth Black, Diesel, Automatic RWD - AX7L. Just for background, I drove an automatic Fortuner 2WD for 10 years before moving to this, to experiment.

Drove about 250 km over the weekend, in the city traffic and the airport road.

It is just fabulous, the pickup and over all feel is great!

White interiors - I love it, and I think will be able to take care of it.

Body roll - I don't find it an issue moving from a Fortuner.

Family (including grown up kids) - Were super apprehensive and against the decision to switch to Roxx, but in one day they are happy (at least my understanding till now )

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Mahindra has mentioned in brochure that MX3 Automatic will have all 4 disc brakes but in this video they are claiming that their diesel automatic got only front discs brakes. Is 4 disc brakes specific to petrol automatic?

Hello,

Attaching a snipet from the brochure. Hope this helps.

Gasoline engine makes more power probably that’s the reason M&M chose to go with all 4 disc brakes on it.

Is wired Apple car play active? Or do we need to wait for software update for that as well?

Congrats and it looks fabulous with black steelies . IMO, Mahindra has fat margins in MX3 D MT/AT variants than any other variants based on its pricing. AX5L D AT is VFM with just 1.5 lakhs more than MX3 D AT.

Please share the performance and mileage of your ROXX as it has the 150 BHP with 330 NM torque.

Yes, 4 Disc brakes are standard in MX3/MX5 P AT. Only MX5 4WD D MT gets 4 Disc brakes.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

No, apple car play is not functional, wired or otherwise. I have been told that there will be an update - no clear timeline.

Very confusing as the same is already available in XUV and others, so not sure why it is not yet operational. If you know, please do share with me also. thanks

Congratulations on getting your car during the festive season.
I have shortlisted these JTI alloys for my Black MX3. Bimbra also offers these alloys for 3D Thar. Ill decide the color when I get my car.
