Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Zimble
Go from Episode 1 to 6

Mind you, episodes 4 to 6 were made several decades ago so the special effects might not be that great compared to the first three. However each episode's story is as good as any.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

I would suggest that you do 456-123.
Where 456 are the sequels made decades before, yeah. Terminator has got nothing on Lucas.
ou will not lose out on anything, I promise. You have to be fascinated with Vader's character, and then you'll be better in place to understand origins.
Although, I did not like 123 AT all. They were too visual, without much going on.
Empire strikes back is the best, for sure, (IMO).

And for fun's sake, do see Eddie Izzard: death start canteen on youtube.

Off this, anyone a fan of Boyka/adkins? Undisputed is coming back!

In order of story and ideal suspense breaks I'd say watch 4-5-1-2-3-6 (in order) that is:

New Hope (1977)
Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Phantom Menace (1999)
Attack of the Clones (2002)
Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Return of the Jedi (1983)

There are couple of suspenses broken in Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of Sith respectively which you won't enjoy if you see it chronologically or in episode order.

The suspense in 'Revenge of Sith' is also broken in 'Return of the Jedi' and it brings a closure to the story. If you see 4-5-6, you won't like to see 1-2-3. If you see 1-2-3 first, it renders part 4-5 useless.

Just see episodes 4, 5 and 6! They are complete in themselves and are the movies that made Star Wars what it is today.

Parts 1,2,3 totally spoiled it and made a hash of things.

Switch of the lights, turn up the volume and let the credits roll!!

Justice league : gods and monsters

Animated feature.
Alternate universe, but this is not your usual crossover. Its fixed in one timeline, where Superman's father is Zod, he's raised by Mexican immigrants, Batman is a vampire, Wonder woman was married to Darkseid's son.
Brilliant!!
That's all the JL that is here.
Really nice take, though Superman is a bit hard to believe with the costume and the goatee.

MI:Rogue Nations.

Watched it yesterday. I find it in the same league as previous. Good action scenes and superbly executed motorcycle chase. The movies did look a little slow. Overall, a good entertainer.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched two movies this weekend.

Ex-Machina: Really liked this move in terms of how a science fiction can be made without much hoopla. The anti-hero character has performed excellent and tends to remind me of some of my old bosses in terms of subtlety while being forceful ! - 4.5/5

Ted 2: This somehow fails to provide any new perspectives and seem to more or less repeat or extend what was told in the initial version. However the dialogues are still quite incisive and it is not really difficult to sit through the movie, even though probably it could have a been a bit shorter. - 2.5/5

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched the following 3 recent releases.

Magic Mike XXL: Good movie which starts off slow. Gathers pace in the second half after a couple of dances and jokes and then finishes with a bang. Great watch and this movie went in deep as compared to the previous one. This may look like a chic flick but the bonding which is shown is a total guy thing.
3.5/5 (I am a big Tatum fan)

Trainwreck: Gosh why did i watch this movie! Same director as Bridesmaids and a total chic flick. The characters are all confused sarcastic and the thing is you cannot relate to anybody here. Miss it, do not even think of watching coz lebron is in it.
1/5 just for the occasional laughs

MI: Each MI series does something crazy. I felt the motorcycle chase was the best after the scene from Matrix 2. The BMW are gorgeous and is on my list of things to own before i die. Nicely done movie but the ending was not as catchy as the middle sequences.

3.5/5(Tom cruise did all the stunts himself)

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

In my long running IMDB Top 250 project (which has slowly chugged along to 127 over the last 7 years), caught up with Les Diabolique and Wages of Fear directed by French director Henri-Georges Clouzot.

Les Diabolique is an excellent thriller. The movie is almost a perfect ten and well worth a watch. Movie is in French though.

Wages of Fear isn't too far behind, but is more of an action-adventure-suspense movie. This one is multi-lingual Spanish, Italian, French, English in tandem.

Mission Impossible is pure fun. One of the best movies that I have ever seen. No its not an overstatement. Tom Cruise is unbelievable. Stunts are brilliant. Pacing of the movie is exceptional. 4.75 out of 5

Mission Impossible : Rogue Nation is fun to watch! Stunts are outstanding and hats off to Tom Cruise, pulling off all stunts so well! Particularly the BMW bike sequence! You are pinned to your seat till the end.

One thing I though noticed in the movie. (Can't help, I am a petrol head!)
When they are chasing Rebecca Ferguson in a BMW car, it flies of the ground in a reverse gear and when it lands, the front air bags pop up! How is that possible I mean

Exact thoughts hit me for a milli second and then with all that was going on, it was forgotten. Glad you observed it too.

Movie is worth your money and time - good fun.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Terminator Genisys

Now this a terminator movie!
This one is more like Terminator, and T2, skipping over the rest.
Aficionados() will love the references to the previous flicks(the sports goods store, the punks..), and the rest.
The second the T1000 came in , in the sports goods store, I knew this was going to be a ride. Loved it to bits!
Also completely appreciate that the makers didnt try to CGI a younger Shwarzennegger, and allowed him to look like what he is, ie, an old man.
Brllinat 5/5

Attack on Titan:Live action
If youre a fan of the animated series, watch it.
If not, try it. Its quite good, though I didnt sit through the whole thing. It literally gave me nightmares.
