It would be both ways, on the flyover as well as the underpass, on both lanes.
The mixer truck has taken up the lane going towards Agara. So people coming from Sarjapur side cannot enter under the flyover. They have to take the lane to the left of the flyover, and thats super narrow.

Plus, vehicles (mostly BMTC buses) coming from Agara towards Sarjapur cannot come out from under the flyover. The rear right portion of the mixer truck is protuding out to the oncoming lane.

In the morning when I saw it, an Indica was able to come out of it, but a larger vehicle like a SUV, and definitely a bus, cannot come out of the lane.

Expect major major major jam at Agara today, lining up towards upto atleast Silkboard, and Bellandur on each sides.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

I used to think about how nice it would be for people to travel to the big open spaces of the outer ring with comfortable parking, big campuses housing corporate units with a commanding view of the city. Where I travel to can be safely called as the true central point of the city (a km or so before Residency Road). Initially the slow moving traffic and bottlenecks bugged me, and I felt that the wide roads of o.r.r would be so much better to travel on which they are.

Off late though I've come to realize the truth, those areas have grown far beyond capacity. The sheer number of people travelling towards the city after a hard days work are too much for the roads. No amount of elevated lanes can help this. I actually blame the government for this and feel sorry for the people who spend a combined 2 hours a day on average up and down, some even more. This is the last thing anyone needs after spending 8 hours in office. I feel the government should work out a system with the companies to synchronise office closing timings and release employees on an hourly basis starting at 4 till 7. I know its not entirely practical since each firm is ancillary to another but the details should be worked out for employees sake.

Overall this city is among the worst in traffic adherence (no.1 in my view) there is zero lane discipline and absolutely no friendliness in terms of waving to let the other pass or atleast indicating when changing lanes. Signals are obeyed only when there's an overhead camera or else motorists violate it freely. I'm stopping just short of trying to say I've seen absolutely no one who set an example of a safe, law abiding motorist. I know most of us aren't from this region to begin with and the govt can easily blame population rise for the woes. How about exercising better control of inter-state buses, tempos, cabs, public buses etc which are the main violators both in terms of emission norms and road rules? As for the rest of the public, just because these people violate doesn't mean we should too.

Does anyone have an idea whether the Agara accident has been cleared?

Unfotunately, they are still cleaning up the mess. The truck still remains.
I passed the spot at 4:10pm
Expect super jam on the way towards HSR caused by Curious onlookers + The crane/tow vehicle trying to remove the truck.
They should have done that during noon, when traffic is relatively free.

Cops discussing how much money they made for the day.
Truck means, they must have become richer by couple of thousands. Who cares how the public is affected.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

I passed by this junction just a few minutes ago. There are debris of the accident but fortunately the truck is moved to the side of the road. So some good news for ring roaders

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Why didn't they even plan to have skywalks constructed on Hosur Road? It is insane riding at night when these 2-legged morons dart out of the shadows scurrying to cross the road!

Watch this "signal free" intersection in Meskel Square, Addis Abeba, Ethiopia.

If it weren't for the width of the road I'd have sworn this is in Bangalore.

There are subways at Bommanahalli, Singasandra and few other busy junctions after silkboard towards Hosur. But how many of them are being used is another question.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Another thought on the accidents caused by hitting the flyover railings on the ORR. What I realized is early mornings, when its still dark, there are no lights and one may not be able to spot the railing. If the truckers and cabbies don't realize that, may be an error can cause a catastrophe. But if it happens in broad daylight, then its an entirely different proposition.

Critical Road Status:

1) Siddapura Road (between Shell Bunk and Nallurahalli), Whitefield is being tarred. Road is blocked. Use the road via Forum Value Mall to reach GE junction.

2) Sarjapur flyover to Agara - The service road towards Agara is blocked by a fallen tree. Even bikes cannot bypass it. Use the broken main road from sarjapur flyover to agara flyover.

I just wish that the cops cancelled his license or seized his vehicle.
Finally someone caught red-handed in front of cops.

LOL. That looks like a yellow board.
I am sure that would be the color of the pants of whoever was inside the car too after the skid
