Hey sorry to hear of your ordeal. I am pretty surprised that you are not getting help as I have always got a reply or help from them. They even went to the extent of helping me through TeamViewer. My cable is working without any issue till date.

An option which you can try is to open the VCDS through the 'VCDS Loader' and not through the 'VCDS Release' icon.

It's not working after playing various settings with vcds, It's definitely hardware issue so have to visit service centre to get it rectified.
I just noticed that clock is not aligned with current timing, Odometer reading is about 57000.

Re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

Hi, just wanted to update a strange behaviour. MySkoda yeticonfirm turn signal was not working. It was doing once against the usual 3 or 5 blinks. I had earlier changed this to 5 a couple of years ago (aliexpress vcds). So today I thought something must have happened during service and let me change to 5 again. When I try changing the same, I was getting error channel 31 not available. At loss, not sure what to do, i went to "Light & Vision" in MFD and did a factory reset and voila it started working. In fact default was 5 blinks. Not sure what caused this but things are working again.

Re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

Hello Team,

I have been reading through all the posts about VCDS and the options available in the market.
I am looking to source the cable from EOBDTool or Aliexpress, but before I do, I am stuck in a dilemma regarding a potential issue.
I own Ameo (2016 1.2 MPI Comfortline) and all the posts related to Polo show that the scanner has readability for Polo.

Will the scanner work for Ameo? Are the scanners from 2017+ compatible with the specific Indian model of the car.

Furthermore, i would like to request senior bhpians in Mumbai with the scanners, if they are willing to let me have a go with their scanner to ensure the readability before I procure the same.
It would be a great help.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

Hello,

I got a Tiguan couple of days back. It has speed alert chime when speed crosses 80. Didn’t get a chance to take it to 120, but I’m sure there would be a continuous chime.

Is it possible to turn it off using VCDS and where can it be done in Gurgaon / DELHI.

Thanks,
Naman

This one - Aliexpress

Hi Gannu_1,

Can you please help regarding the change of fuel consumption indicator from l/100 Km to Km/L for the Laura TDi? I have been trying to do on a friend’s VCDS but unable to go through.

Re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

I got a strange problem on my Yeti 2012. Got these two errors.

This (Engine Management Warning Light) is flashing.

Size: 50.5 KB

This (Emissions Control Light) comes later and stay on.

Name: Emissions Control Light.png

The car sounds very different (like a 3 cylinder engine) and power is down on throttle input.

Did a VCDS scan and found the following fault:

As my search on google, found the following, the most common causes for this code include:
  • Defective cylinder 3 fuel injector
  • Plugged or dirt in fuel injector
  • Corroded fuel injector, connections or wiring
  • Poor or broken electrical connections in the connector or harness
  • Open or short wiring harness for the cylinder 2 injector circuit
  • Defective fuel injector power circuits

Any idea how to narrow down the source of the problem?

If it helps, I had a stage 1 remap done from Petes 1.5 years back.

I know I'm a bit late. But, to everyone having problems with the Chinese VCDS cables on Windows 10, please uninstall the software (both Ross Tech and the Loader - only for cables with updatable software) and the drivers. Then disable the "windows driver signature reinforcement". Google on this, there are 3 methods to do this out of which the advanced startup method is the easiest and is temporary.. Now install everything. It should work. Restart after you're done and driver signature reinforcement is enabled again. I had this issue with my cable from EOBDTools. I gave up and started using a friend's laptop. Now, I found this fix and I'm using it on mine. Hope it helps others as well.

Note : This process might work for non updatable cables as well. If anyone tries on a non updatable cable, please do let the others know.

Hey, I've purchased from them. Their support is good. The software works. I'm using their cable on my 2017 Vento TSI and 2011 Jetta TDI without any issues. Logically, the scanner should work for Ameo as well. Many others on the forum have used this on a Polo. There's no reason for it to not work on the Ameo.

Re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

Hello, a very informative thread. I am soon to take the delivery of VW Ameo Diesel DSG Highline Plus. I had requested the SA to get the following features activated during PDI:

1. Emergency Braking Flashing Lights.
2. Locking- Audio Feedback.
3. Auto Lock-20kmph.
4. Change Comfort Turn Signal from 3 to 5.
5. Enable Tear Drop Wiping.
6. Needle Sweep.

Out of the above, they were able to activate the 1, 2, 3 & 6. They are saying they can’t change the values for no.4 & 5 as their scanner is not reading the same. Any pointers on how to get these activated?

Thanks in advance.
