re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

HASS refused to sell me the coolant for my OTC. I had to get a job card opened. 1300 odd bucks. 4 litres of coolant. Decent I guess.

So policy changes from HASS to HASS. Did you really need 4l? I guess you could have got your friendly car parts dealer to order a litre for you.

Did you get them poured into the radiator or buy them in bottles?

Are the bottles the same as the one in the photo I posted?

Hi, Need some advice on getting a good pair of horns for my Civic.
Priorities are, it should be loud, but not irritating.

The stock ones are doing their job, but wont get you the 'attention' my Alto manages with the ROOTS. In short, autos and people simply wont care to move with that stock sound :(

Bosch windtone trumpets or Roots Red windtone trumpets out of which later is louder but installation takes time as they are lil bigger, the former is lil less louder than the later but installation is simpler.

Make a point to use Bosch Relay and Finolex wiring for this for optimum results and no strain on your combination switch when horn is operated.
My self using the Bosch windtone with bosch relay and finolex wiring all i can say is Ricks, scoots, cars and Buses do give way

Who (in Bangalore) can do this job reliably and what would be the cost? I don't think the HASS will do this.

re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

Dont know in Banglore but the cost of Bosch windtone is 750rs with 6months warranty and the cost of relay being 200-250 and wiring would be max 200rs so in all say 1.2k.
But worth it.

Make sure the person doing this crimpes the wires properly and uses connectors for relay and horn for optimum results.

WAP 7 Horn in a Civic

Jus' curious to know if anyone (here or abroad) tried to use a WAP 7 type horn in a car?

What are the specs?; and in the first place, is it possible to install this at all in a car?

I'm in Garbage City and would like to use this horn under extreme circumstances.

Thanks!

Keeping ourselves to the technical issues, just wanted to know if the car battery can handle this.

Also, is there a problem if it is used only on the highways?

Has this been tried before?

Thanks!!

In case of delay in obtaining NCB from the previous insurer, is it possible to go ahead with taking the insurance policy without claiming NCB now, and later, once the NCB certificate is obtained, can go for modifying the same?

Is this a normal scenario or something at the discretion of the insurer?

Try an independent AC chap. I do not see how it can be the motor, and the core must be blocked for this to happen. Maybe try and contact vigsom, since he got the AC of his Corolla fixed outside the A.S.S racket.

re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

Thanks. Will try someplace outside.

Another issue that has been boggling me is the aux input. The 2006 civic doesnt have an aux port. I have been trying to find some place which will do the job for me. the HASS ( mathura road, new delhi) refused to do it. I have heard some dealerships do manage to get it done. I am not confident of taking it apart and installing it myself by following the DIY tutorial.

Has anyone got it done? Does anybody know which dealership in NCR can do this for me? Or any music accessories/ speakers/woofer installation guy can install the aux input?
Really looking forward to a solution.

Can you help in identifying the location where the horn is fixed?
Went to HASS to check on this, and they told that in Civic, it is difficult to put extra hone, because the only place it can go has the cooling pipe passing through, which, over a period of time will cause vibrations to develop.

Any pictures of the same available?
