The job name and labour code do not have any correlation, I find it very strange indeed. I think you should just check with other service centres in respect of this job. The tax components also seem a bit odd. What's with tax under two separate heads?

1 . No they don't have that feature
2 . The heating is done from the engine heat, there is no additional heating element or anything. So if you check for heating just after starting the car, it will not be hot. Check it after running the car for a while and once the Engine temperature comes up.

Thanks for the details Spadix. On the face of it, I can smell something fishy, anyways I will check with Prime Honda Vaishali and will let you know if such service exists along with charges and the reason for double taxation. Also, will try to enquire what all is done in this service and why and at what frequency is it required.

Auto-climate control I think uses the heater as well. So I am confused.

However, if you look at it the heater basically is a small radiator in the blower box. So this is not getting water from the block / radiator. Can be either the malfunctioning solenoid / valve, or a blocked line or (unlikely) a very bad vapour lock.

Well, actually the coolant plays a very important role in the heating system

Any idea which coolant should I put in my Civic? I know we need to use the blue coolant

Get it topped up at HASS rather than replacing it with after market stuff. I once put in Golden Cruiser coolant in my Honda City and later because of one of the hose leakage I went to HASS and what they showed me inside the other hoses was frightening. Most of the hoses got choked with the Green Coolant. Finally I had to change 3 hoses and get the rest of them cleaned and the entire coolant replaced with the original coolant from HASS. Since the coolant lasts for more than 20K kms, I would suggest you get it replaced or topped up at HASS. Your call though.

Yes you can!

I had bought one some months back to be used in emergencies.

But so far never had to use it.

It comes already diluted, so you can pour it directly.

Manim, has HASS started selling off the shelf? As far as I know they dont sell any product to the customer, you need to avail the service at the service station.

I had bought it at HASS when I had gone for a routine service (1,05,000 kms) at their spare-parts counter.
They said it was not necessary (to buy) as they will top-up at every 5K service if needed.
Anyway I bought one since I was to go on a 2,750 kms long round-trip to Goa in the next few days in peak summer. (The trip was successful, the Civic kept its cool!).

Note in one photo that Honda itself says "Cooling System Failure is the #1 cause for roadside engine breakdowns"!

Cost was Rs.313, bought on 10/May/2012.
The opening-seal is still intact (never opened so far).

Does anyone have a video of the noise level of civic running at optimum temperature. I feel my civic has a mild noise. Although there is no noise that is audible inside the cabin, however when I park the car in the basement, I hear a mild noise inside the cabin. When I stand next to the hood, I hear a mild noise (like Tappets). Some of my friends have told me that civic's engine is dead silent and this noise is not normal.

Anyone has a video or an audio recording?

I have been getting some insane FE recently.
This was possible since I had to make many 4-lane highway runs solo with plenty of time.
Traffic is also very sparse in this part of south-india.

I experimented by going steady at the lowest possible speed in 5th gear, at around 63 to 68 kmph @ 1,250 rpm.
One trick I tried was to follow a bus/truck closely at steady speeds for a long time to reduce air-drag (not safe though!).

Measured with full-tank to full-tank method.
(Accuracy improves over longer distances with multiple filling).

19.7 kmpl over 392 kms with 20 lts.
18.0 kmpl over 885 kms with 49 lts.
17.4 kmpl over 1,110 kms with 64 lts.

And that too in a car which is 5 and a half years old with 1,20,000 on the odo and waiting for its major (every 40K) service!

My best over very long term is:
13.7 kmpl over 20,062 kms with 1,462 lts.
(All my filling are maintained in a spread-sheet).

Though the odo is now at 1,20,150 kms, I want to do another 1,000 kms before I go for the service.
This (40K) service will require 2 days.
