I think Nissin is also an OEM supplier for Honda. But sure thing that you can get the Nissin brake pads for Civic outside Honda for lesser. I think that 0W-40 or 5W-40 should be ideal engine oil for Civic in our conditions. If synthetic, so much better and you can then elongate the drain interval to 1 year against the ridiculous Honda advice of 6 months.
Do let us know the price once you procure the parts.

@saket77; I am using the Honda/Idemitsu/Savita 0W30 in my civic for over three years. Only it is API-SM and not SN. I am quite happy with it. I am sure if you forget Honda even semi-synth should be Ok for 12 months / 12000km.

So basically as per what I understood, I can get any of the above mentioned oils but 0W30 would give me the best results & will be the safest for the car ?

Are there any SN oils available for the Civic ?
I have heard that they increase the fuel economy to quite some extent.

Guys what tyre pressure you maintain. I found the ride to be much better at 30 psi but at 32 psi it was jarring but the start up from stop was faster. At 30 psi the ride is much smoother but i am not sure if it will wear out the tyres faster. I am running 205' on my Civic.

I was using 30 all these days and started filling 32 from a month and found it great. Am sticking to 32 for now.

If you are able to get the air in on cold conditions (morning, with the pump within 2-3 km radius), 30 should hold good as well balanced.
If you are doing it in on hot tire, 32-33 would be apt.

Guys, I have recently noticed that my steering wheel vibrates after I hit 100 KMPH. But when I slow down to 95 KMPH, its smooth. I did try to browse this forum but the suggestions are not satisfactory. Sorry tho.

Do you think the Pads or Mounts ?

There are plenty of API-SN olis in the market, Mobil1 and most other synths. There are many semi-synths which are also API-SN (Castrol Magnatec for one).

@shuvc; I doubt whether the oil will be available outside HASS though it may be since the older name was Veedol. Go by the grade and there is nothing like the best within a grade. Only I find Honda oil cheaper than Mobil1 and is 0W30 as against 0W40. You may be able to use Magnatec 5W30 very safely.

Does it vibrate when you hit the brakes above 100 or just vibrates around 100 kmph. If vibration is on braking then the front disc might be needed to be skimmed or replaced.If that is not the case then the wheels might need balancing.

Check your tyres and alignment. That's usually the problem if the steering wheel is vibrating at higher speeds.

Is there any particular grade for hydraulic power steering oil for the Civic? I would be taking the car for a couple of outstation trips and prefer to carry brake fluid (Dot-4) which I assume is also the clutch fluid, E.oil (5w-30 - Magnatec) and power steering fluid. Anything else you guys suggest that I might have missed?

I second that.

I had a similiar (braking) problem and it was solved after the front brake rotors and pads were replaced.
