Hi Guys,

When I activate the power button to close both external mirrors the right one does not fold and has become very loose. It requires a gentle nudge to manually close from the outside. The left side closes perfect with the power button.

My Civic is parked in a covered parking inside my compound and there was no impact nor any force applied.

Any idea what could have happened and what would be a solution?

Guys one query, When I start the car and if someone is standing outside they say they can clearly hear "Putttrrrr" kind of heavy noise. Although while I am inside the car I too can sometimes hear a faint noise of the "Putttrrrr". The car is 2007 AT Civic. Please suggest, what can be the issue and how can it be resolved?

Sometimes the gears inside slip and cause the motor to just move around without performing the open and close function of the mirror. You can get it rectified at a proper car electrical garage. I got it done for my right side from Prakash Stores Santacruz for a hefty 1500 bucks.

Also if you have a washer ask him not to forcefully open or close the mirrors manually as this is what causes the gears to slip.

My car washer has been instructed to never forcefully open or close the mirrors since I have this car and since its in a protected parking at home, I never close the mirrors.

Will try and sort this out with a proper electrical garage and update. This Prakash Motors you mention - is it in Milan Subway?

Yes its at Milan subway. They called up a repair guy who pulled out the mirror fixed it back later in the evening. You need not keep car but will warrant a couple of visits to remove and refix incase you stay far from Santacruz.

Has anyone bought spares for their Civic made by the YEC brand? I am considering coils made by them as Denso ones are exorbitantly priced. Yamaguchi Electric co is the Japanese co name and i was told it is second to Denso.

Have you checked the existing coil's? The case mentioned by you is more of tuning related issue. Also have you personally checked the spark plug gap ? Get these things cross checked before you buy the coil's. Also if possible try to replace your coil's from someone elses civic before you actually spend so much of money.
By the way does you car have the CNG filters, the low pressure and high pressure one ? And have you got the cleaning of reducer done, I hope I've got the term right.

At times, there is a lag between when I press the accelerator and the time taken by my car to move faster. There is a jerk before it responds. My civic is a 2007 MT. what could be the issue?

I will be verifying with Honda/FNG before i take a leap. I had the gap adjusted to 0.8mm along with throttle body cleaning from Honda. I do not have the CNG filter as i have no idea where to get one and i am sure my fitter does not know about it and i don't want to ask him about it lest we go on another long phone conversation as i had when we were discussing my car's issue with him. Did you get the filers installed on your Civic? Do you have reference where from where i can get proper CNG service or spares if needed. I won't be fitting the coils without getting second opinions for sure. Problem is my FNG guy is unwell and is in the hospital.

Get the ignition coils checked.This fixed the same issue for my AT.

I got it done at Whitefield Honda Bangalore,cant remember the manufacturer name.They pinpointed the issue by swapping the Coils in my car with ones from another car.It cost me 17 K for a set of 4 if I remember correctly.

Fellow Tbhpians I need your help on a peculiar case that has happened with my 2007 Honda Civic 1.8s MT.

I had given my car to HASS Central Honda Bhubaneswar on 31st Oct 2016, Monday for a brake master cylinder change (brake pedal had become spongy off late, brake used to bite late as well and brake bleeding did not help either), also there was some leakage so thought off to change the brake master cylinder.

Apart from the above there was slight leakage from the steering pump and there was oil on the rack, which was diagnosed to steering pump o-rings being leaky and those were replaced too.

Now when I went to take the delivery of my car to HASS today, I see both the front suspensions being shot, which was also told to me by the mechanic earlier yesterday. When I took a TD of the vehicle I see both the suspensions have sagged down and the vehicle bounces over rumblers and potholes, when I had given them the car that was not the case, suspension had sagged a little but it was not that bad, i.e. the suspensions were okay.

Looking at the condition of my car I accused the mechanic and service guys of having crashed the car from a lift, or having it crashed in some craters on road but then I do not see any visible damage on the underbody. The explanation given to me by the mechanic was they were doing a TD post the brake and steering repairs and during negotiating a plastic humps the suspensions just went kaput and sagged down. And since these civic supensions are gas shocks, they do go off like this at times.

My car has run 98K and I am at a loss of words/ understanding or reasonable explanation as to how this could have happened. Can anyone please throw some light on this as to how on earth this might have happened, I am sure there must be a logical explanation to it.

On another note, I called up a friend of mine, a fellow Tbhpian who works in NVH for Tata Motors asking for an explanation and he told me if you frequently gun your car on the plastic rumblers this suspension damage might happen and so this happened to my car later rather than sooner. Off late since the last 3-4 months I usually have jumped over plastic or rather say scientific rumblers at a speed of 18-25 kph frequently near my office but never have had this issue . I am assuming this might have been the case but still quite confused.
