My driver has managed to lose the fuel tank cap of my civic. Any idea where I buy a cheap one? Service center quoted INR 2k.

They are pretty ubiquitous. Any cap for the smaller filler (the filler was bigger before unleaded came in) should fit. Just check around.

Same for the pressure caps for the radiator.

gear shudder problem? Can you give more details?

Anything to do with transmission-oil?
Was it changed according to schedule?

Since mine too is an 2007 model AT, am curious.

I had one previous incident where the 'D' light was blinking and the gear would not go above third. (The car had been sitting idle for many months). At HASS after the wires were checked and cleaned it became okay. Maybe it was dust on the sensors I suppose.

That was one year back and now everything is working fine!

Took the car to HASS today and they said they'll need to keep the car for 4-5 days and then only will confirm the solution. SA also told me that it will be a minimum of 20k given that all rubber beadings etc will have to be replaced

Facing this issue only for last 4-5 days. It was all fine earlier.
Take it to a windshield shop and ask them to seal the right top corner of the windshield. That should sort it out.

Hello, my fuel gauge went Kaput. Sometimes it shows bars from the reverse side and other times its completely black. The yellow fault light too has been on sice. Showed it at pinkcity honda in jaipur and to my horror they told me the sensor needs to be changed and it will cost 18k! What to do, please guide.

Well i had issue where the display would go completely blank. One of the mechanics resolved it by disconnecting the battery for 5 mins and reconnecting it again. This happened mostly in rainy season and on dry spells it would behave itself. You could try this and see. Alternatively you could get it repaired from a good shop which specializes in electric car repairs. If this option is also not there try looking for a used one from a scrap shop etc.

Re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

Got back in town after 10 days and I've got mold in my car! It's on the floor, the seatbelts and somehow even on the plastic flap covering the cup holders. It also seems that I've got mold in the ac vents, as although I got the other bits cleaned up, the air-conditioning still smells of it. Any idea how I could get rid of all the mold? And disinfect the ac vents?

Didn't work with battery disconnected and reset. I am not comfortable with giving car to local mechanics, had a major issue once, they do not take responsibility when they mess up something. Is this really an issue with the censor as claimed by Honda or a minor electrical glitch?

I got them twice but only on the steering wheel! Blame the season.
I guess running the heater on full at the highest temperature might help clear them.

Regards.

Try sprinkling baking soda liberally all over the carpets and in nooks and corners specially. They tend to grow back.
As for the foul odour, you could try AC cleaners from Abro / Cyclo / Armorall.
Also get hold of a small packet of activated carbon, you can buy it online for anywhere between 200-600 and leave it in the car. It'll absorb all those annoying smells.

Try parking the car in sun, turn on temprature knob to max (hottest position) and keep AC running for a while. My Alto has similar issue and after running the AC this way for around 20 minutes smell disappeared.
