Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

My car now has done about 17000 km
Of late I can hear quite a big rattle from the rear side once i go over potholes/humps. More audible when I drive in the night
Anyone with similar experience?
What could be the possible cause?

I have done 19700 kms.

i have been having this problem right from 5000 kms.

Fixed it during the 10K service.

but it is again re surfaced now.

Its from the back door.

SA did not explain well and i did not have the time. I am going in for 20K kms service now and will rattle them for exact reason.

By the way, its a 1.5 TDCi

Well that's true brother because I have got the done from the same guy (Mr Srinivas Gopal). And as @ecosportrules mentioned in his posts, Mr Gopal is a very professional and supportive person. I installed the headlights myself and calling me even an amateur would be exaggeration. But he was very patient and guided me through all steps. I finished the job past midnight but he was there till the end. A tiring but pleasant experience. And the results paid off in the end...

Thanks to both Mr Gopal and @ecosportrules.
Congratulations buddy.
You echo my thought about Srinivas gopal.
We are not able to view the pictures you posted, seems to be a problem.

I have done around 12000km and I donot have any new rattles.

BUT I have one rattle from the first day of delivery, around the MID.
It comes and goes away on its own, kind of got used to it now.
Ford guys offered to remove and refit the MID but I postponed it for later, when I upgrade the MID to a colour one from Caska or eequivalent.

Hi revv_maniac and jojoinassi, did you check the rear seat belts and if they are in the right position? I too faced this mild rattle over some rough terrain last week and it turned out that the seat belts were knocking on the plastic cladding. You may stuff them tightly near the seat. Other than this it's quite a silent ride. And mine is not even 2000 kms old

Essential Pack?

Hello,

The dealer has mentioned essential pack for Rs. 4600 in the proforma invoice. Is it mandatory? Since I want to go in for the 3D spindex mats on Dr. Kumar's (ecosport rules) suggestion, won't this essential pack be a waste?

This pack includes:
Mudflaps (which I will buy separately)
Carpet Mat
Trunk Mat

Please share your valuable opinion.

You can always opt out of this essential pack. It also includes (other than mud flaps and car mats):
Keychain, car perfume and document holder.

Thanks naveen.raju,

I wanted to know if I want to go for 3D spidex mats, will the essential be redundant (as I am not interested in perfume, key chain and document holder)?

Sorry for this but I am not aware what carpet mat and trunk mat are?

I mean, is the 3D mat installed on the carpet mat?

Thanks.

It's just the floor mats like you find in any other car but the only difference is that it's not the usual rubber mats. It's got this carpet texture.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Update:

Got a confirmation call from ford chennai about my allotment of Ecosport Automatic (Mars Red).

Confirmed with my dealer and he says that they will deliver my car this week.

Going to the dealership (Riddhi Ford, New Delhi) tomorrow to do all the formalities for the loan.

Although neither ford nor the dealership has told me the VIN number inspite of me asking them again and again.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

It would be great if people getting allotment or taking delivery could remind us of when they placed the order.

Hello Thad E Ginathom,

I had booked my TDCi Tit(O) in Mid of August last year and got a call from Ford and the dealer day before yesterday (i.e. 20th Jan) intimating that my car has been allotted.

Dealer says it will be delivered in 10 days max.

Any suggestions before/during delivery

Congrats Raz0r

I also got "the" call day before yesterday for TDCi Tit(o). Dealer says it will be delivered in 10 days max.

What accessories are planning to buy from Ford? I will be getting mud flaps and rear view camera (mostly the individual pack which comes with rear camera, Illuminated scuff plates and Rear wing spoiler).

I am also thinking of taking the insurance from outside as suggested by most bhpians. What's your take on this? We can discuss the best available option and whether there are any disadvantages to buy it on our own.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Does anyone have a problem with the exposed steering rod? My left leg keeps touching it when applying the clutch, and it's not a good feeling.

Hi,

Is the dealer charging 9k as service charge?

Is there any problem/hassle in buying the insurance from outside? Can you please help me with the process/steps to buy insurance. Thanks.

Which colour is yours?
