No LBM,

I'd like to apologise to you and to everyone for my prolonged absence. I've been busy with a lot of unexpected work. All kinds, not only JBL.

Things will sort out in about a week, when I return from the Malaysian GP, then I'll be back here permanently. Me love you Long time.

If I were you I'd be shopping for a yeti-proof chastity belt right now, if that's a hint.

in continuation with my purchase of swift.

my audio system stat is as follows and looking forward to replies.

I have a Pioneer KEH P7035 (50*4 power) and a 12 cd changer, sparingly used

Features

* Dot-matrix Organic EL display
* EEQ
o SFEQ (Sound Focus Equalizer)
o 5-mode preset equalizer
o 2-mode custom preset equalizer
o 3-band parametric equalizer
o 3-mode selectable loudness
o 2-way crossover: HPF/LPF
* ASL (Auto Sound Levelizer)
* Pop-up rotary volume
* Direct Sub Drive
* 3 RCA preouts: selectable (front+rear+subwoofer/front+rear+non-fading)
* Level indicator
* Supertuner® IIID
* Multi-CD control

I was happy with the Pio 6 inch ovals and stock door speakers in iKON, faded towards back at +4 and yeah after lot of fiddling around with the frequency thingie (N,W and what not) gave pretty good sound.

I listen mostly to rock, and any stereo i prefer rock setting to put in simple terms, dont blast too much either, and restricted to some cd's and FM mostly.

Question that comes to mind is, i kinda am biased to Pio speakers, so somebody drive me some ideas please, to better option if any for the following plan.

Stage 1: Immediate, get speakers to get the sound out, budget hmm 8 to 10 k, either 4 speaker set up (am i being greedy)

OR

a 2 speaker set up which will give decent sound including base, yeah a small enclosure for Oval's allowed. Only thing i wanted to explore was keep the enclosure underneath the board and speakers flush mounted on the board.

ps: would be great if Stage 1 can be re used for Stage 2.

Stage 2: Add a decent amp to enhance the base and overall clarity, maybe in 3-6 months

Looking for make and model and approx cost (great)

Result (winner) will be updated in the other post where am discussing the car itself..

For 8K you can get 4 coax speakers that fit the Ikon. It owuld be your best bet. If you are looking for 2 front speakers and a sub you will need an amp. Such a setup will cost you upwards of 10K for quality components (4K for front speakers, 4k for a Pio sub with MDF tray or box, and 3K for a 2 ch Sony amp).

In that case you can use 6" in the front of the Swift and eithe 6x9 on the rear tray (if you are not use a sub) or 6" coax in the rear door. The rest of my earlier post is still valid.

I can tell you Navin's reply for your question. the answer is to listen to a few brands and let your ears decide.

thats where am stuck, all the demo's are done using speakers fixed onto boxes and in shop floor, which will not be the scene once you listen to the same inside a car.

i used to sit inside the car in dark to listen and fine tune my HU to my taste lol and hence looking forward to people with good taste and EXPERIENCE instead of amature (novice rather) like me re inventing the wheel :P

that you will find but that's where team-bhp comes into play. get hold of members and audition their ICE.

You can also go to Anwar at auto fusion. he will have a few customer cars at his place which you can listen to.
