@harry10

you can check AVS Forum with your update version number for any discussion.

Since this is a US based forum the changes included in the update (US) may not exactly be the same as here but will definitely get an idea about the possible advantages with the update.

harry10 - inverters have slower relays than UPSes. You may be better off connecting the UPS at least while doing the update.

That will depend on what have they changed in the firmware, some are fixes for known problem others enhancement. Once you get hold of the firmware, go through the included document which will tell you what has improved and then decide if you want to upgrade.

It seems to be a good price.

In December 2010, panasonic showroom's best price was 65k and dealer's best price was around 63k. I had checked multiple showrooms in Bangalore.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

anybody using the 3D glasses with 3D TV.
I need some info on 3D glasses for sony LED 3D TVs.
The cost quoted by the dealer is very high 13k for the pair of glasses. i have question here does the ordinary ones which will we get in theaters are applicable for the 3D TVs and wat is the major difference between the ordinary ones and one from the sony 13k.
Also saw few blue, red, meganta glasses on ebay will they be useful.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

Most 3D TVs (almost all other than the new LGs) use active shutter glasses. The Real 3D glasses used in theaters are polarizing ones that will not work with your TV. Nor will the Red-Blue anaglyphic ones.

The only way out is to buy the one that manufacturers make.

Only Active Shutter Glasses will work with a Sony Bravia 3D TV. Yes, even non Sony 3D glasses that are available in US. I don't think they are available in India. So you will have to pay 13k if you want to enjoy 3D, no other option.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

HI Guys.
i bought my samsung plasma last year(best decision) so i would like you guys to help me buy a 32 inch tv for my parents as well.
First- Should i go for lcd or a led?
As per my understanding lcd makes more sense but still suggest me.

Second- Which lcd- The ones i had checked in showrooms are-
1.-Lg ld310 which is a hd ready model -price 24k. It looked alright while the start cricket was played on it.
2.-samsung D550 if i rem right which was somewhere around 34-37k. its the new 5 series one which got launched in 2011 as per the sales guy. Looked good imo.

3 Sony CX420 if i rem the model correctly for 35k. Well i am not a big fan of Sony as there after sales service is expensive and i had seen many sony products failing too often. However this looked the best out of the all i saw.

Am open to purchase from showroom or from grey market (like guffar) if the price difference is substantial.

Could not check Panasonic and not that much interested as i feel in LCD's Sony,Samsung or even LG have an edge over Pana.

Kindly suggest me for the above selections or for any better models as well.
Requirements are simple-
Full HD is a priority but if you suggest that HD ready will suffice then am open to that also.
Usb port
Hdmi port.
It will be primary used for tata sky with an occasional movie thrown in thats why USB is required which can play most formats.
The purchase will happen this week itself.

Waiting for the inputs.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

Any feedback on Videocon 40in Lcd? Supports full HD, 8ms response time(f2f) with good contrast ratio. Have to buy a videocon product because of the certificate which I have and hence narrowed down to this.

Any experience with the Videocon LED / LCD models?
