re: The iPhone Thread

Some respite for iPhone 4 users. Seems Google Now (Google's version of Siri) is coming to iOS in the next few days. Can't wait to try out natural voice searches on my phone, at last!!

re: The iPhone Thread

From what I've heard the Aircel 3GS at 9999 was snapped up eagerly by customers and is now OOS. Could anyone is Bangalore tell me if its available somewhere? Was planning to gift it to someone.

Problems with my 4S

Since day one,my iPhone 4S has always had a poor battery back up . But the problems became worse after 5.1. Recently the phone started heating up like crazy . I did try reinstalling the OS a couple of times , but of no use . I couldnt step out of the house without my charger in tow .

Finally , got the phone checked at the local Imagine store . They "diagnosed" the phone for 24 hours and called me back saying the phone had a problem with its battery . I would be getting a replacement phone , but after 3 days .

re: The iPhone Thread

I am thinking to change to iPhone from Nokia after sing it for long 7 years.
After iPhone 5 launch, I feel prices of 4 and 4S will come down a bit. But dont know if iPhone 5 will be made available for India after release soon and all those rumors about the spec turns out to be true.

Since this will be my 1st iPhone I will Wait for 5 to release and then decide whether go for 5 or 4S.

iPhone 5 is expected in India by October end. IMO it won't be priced any less than 45k.

Surprised (positively) to hear that your 3G experience has improved by migrating to the Aircel network. Do you use the Aircel network in Bombay?

My 3G experience is as good as the state of the Indian economy - zilch, in Bombay. I am on Vodafone.

I use Aircel in Bangalore . As of now , i am more than happy with Aircel . Have been able to do Skype/Tango video calls over 3G without any problems inside Bangalore city . Cant say much about other cities

I have a 499 monthly plan for Voice and 199 for 1GB of data over 3G .The best thing about the voice plan is that you can carry over the unused minutes and unused SMS to the next month .

last I heard Apple was going to prepone the launch to August due to the competition (unconfirmed though). Not sure when it will hit Indian shores.

re: The iPhone Thread

And it wont be here for atleast a few months...my guess is Nov-Dec.

Apple has almost always officially launched the Iphone late in India. And the initial gray prices will be mind numbing to say the least. I will be in Singapore in October, maybe Ican pic one up, if the Re-USD rates get better.

re: The iPhone Thread

Damn!

My iPhone 3GS is acting weird since last 2 days. The central Home button is just not working. It works once in 10 attempts.

If I start any application, such as Photos, Calendar or any app, I can not come out of it. Neither single click nor double click is working. I have to restart the handset to see the homepage again.

Any ideas?

Edit: Its out of warranty and I have not purchased the Apple Protection plan. I think I am doomed.
