I belive apple needs to work on the pricing model for new Iphone 6s
i was tempted for this offer but they will only give credit back to paytm wallet and not the actual cash back to your bank or credit card.

I have ordered from ebay where ebay is giving subsidy to sellers, so final price listed on ebay is 66,250. this is with bill and manufacturer (apple) warranty.

Its either 4k straight off or 6k in PayTm wallet. I think it's a good deal because you can use PayTm to pay for your phone bills or DTH anyways.

The 6S is priced at $649 + tax in the US. colleague just got one down. Way more reasonable than what we have to pay here.

Also, the iPhone 6 prices in last week's sale were a steal. The iPhone 6 at Rs.35.5K was cheaper than US which is $549+tax.

I think buying the older gen is making more sense when the newer gen is launched. It works especially good for apple as resale is high and OS updates are supported longer.

I did. New is 'new emojis'! Rest is correcting the mess in previous versions.

The iPhone Thread

I can't see any benefits of the current update.
Meanwhile, my 11 month old IPhone 6 is doing well. I can sense slight improvements in the battery.

Also, during our USA visit last month, my sister got my mom a new iPhone 6. However, should have bought the iPhone 6s; Incredible VFM considering the prices in India. Moreover the entire buying process took less than 10 minutes. 😄

Re: The iPhone Thread

Using my iPhone 6S 64GB Space Grey for the past week. The best 'S' update ever with so many new hardware features such as extra gig of ram, new taptic engine read fancy vibration motor, 3D touch, stronger aluminium body, 12mp camera with image stabilisation active even during video recording, 5mp front camera, new insanely powerful A9 chip and last but not the least faster fingerprint sensor. You also get stuff like 1080p videos at 120fps and live photos. It was a no brainer for me when it came to upgrade from my earlier 4S.

Apple doesnt repair the phone. They will replace it outright for a fee, somewhere close to 25k for a replacement.
My suggestion is to look for a reliable after market source and get the repair done at half or less.
My uncles iphone 6 glass was replaced in bangkok( not the entire display unit) for 1.8k baht which is around 3.5k rupees.
Im not expecting such prices in India, but shouldn't cross 6 for just the glass, and probably 10-12 if they replace the entire unit

If you want, you can order a screen replacement kit from eBay. It'll come with all tools needed to replace it. Also Apple does replace screens but US prices are approx $100 or so, don't know about here.

Refer YouTube/ifixit videos and if you feel confident then do it. As long as you do the things as per guides and slowly/carefully it'll work. I've opened up imac, mac laptops and even some iPods/iphones though not the 6.

Re: The iPhone Thread

If you have contacts in Bangalore there are apple specialist that can help you with replacement of screen, cost will vary between 7-10k based on quality of display / OE part.

Re: The iPhone Thread

That is why I immediately invested in a "Tempered Glass" protection for my IPhone 6+ as soon as I bought it.

It costed me just INR 150. Iam given to understand if phone falls on ground with screen first, tempered glass will break but, not the screen.

Haven't tested it though

My wife's 6+ came with a free tempered glass....

Can the glass alone be replaced? I thought the screen needs to be replaced, that's why I was sad, aftermarket would definitely mean inferior quality than apple and I was not ready to sacrifice the screen quality. Trying the apple replacement is an option only if they replace the whole unit, with pricing within 35, I am sure the replacement would cost well within 25k

Don't wanna go the DIY way, I am too scared to do that, I was thinking of getting my phone sent to US for repairs.

I also bought the tempered glass, it broke in 2 days, I have another screen guard which was missing in the house, need to do a search.
