battery drain on N5 is definitely an issue but isnt something I was particularly concerned with - coming from an S3 whose battery erodes in realtime!

Interesting. Do post comparisons. Thanks for the data point in bold.

I've not used the 816 outside of a showroom so can't comment but this is interesting. Did you compare low-light performance without flash without a bright light source behind the subject?

To me - motion blur in shooting my son is my biggest annoyance - low dynamic range is a problem in S3 too, but is far lower in my priorities.
Well, even though there is no motion blur in the N5 pic you posted, there surely is a lot of noise compared to the S3. What probably the N5 is doing is crank up the ISO and increase the shutter speed. So one problem is replaced by another.

N5 is priced cheap, so it is impossible that they put top notch hardware in it. I haven't tested my OPO in low light. I will do a comparison between the OPO and Lumia 925 and post my findings.

The OnePlus one camera is nowhere near Nexus 5 when used in HDR mode.

Mediocre at its best. And when I compared the camera of Desire 816 with Nexus 5, I was amazed to see the camera quality of Desire 816 to be way better than Nexus 5. Nexus 5 suffered from poor quality photos especially when taken with bright light source behind the subject while this was not the case with 816.

Nexus 5 has an average camera without a doubt.
You cannot judge a camera after using it for a couple of minutes without checking the results per pixel on a computer screen.

Here are two shots that I just took with my Nexus 5, one in HDR mode and another in normal mode. The difference in quality is staggering, look at how legible the text is in HDR mode compared to the normal mode. As per the EXIF the HDR picture is clicked at ISO3200. I wonder if you can show me another phone which take a picture like this at ISO3200.

Posting the crops below.

HDR (ISO3200 as per the exif)

Non HDR Auto Mode (ISO2384 as per the Exif)

It was not at all for a couple of minutes. I was fiddling with phones for around an hour and Croma sales person was actually annoyed with me doing all this!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

So I borrowed my friend's N5 and did a quick comparison with Oneplus One

Oneplus on the left and Nexus 5 on the right.

The oneplus is less flat, and the Nexus gets an error message on the screen!

Did you use HDR mode for the Nexus 5?

Both Oneplus and Nexus 5 had HDR disabled. I usually don't use HDR as it makes my pic look unrealistic. I like the shadows as long as it does not get grainy.

BTW, I did shoot some pics with HDR enabled, but the N5's pics still had that haze.

Nexus 5 HDR is very subtle. Infact it is so subtle that I wonder why they call it HDR mode at all. They should just call it ideal picture mode.
The HDR mode on the OPO on the other hand is anything but subtle. I think there is a problem with the camera on your friend's N5. There is no haze as far as my N5 is concerned.

Guys, any good Bluetooth Headset you would recommend? I am looking for one with HFP, HSP, A2DP and PBAP.

I use the lg tone + which I find has excellent sound, battery life and form factor. Only issue is hands free is terrible in noisy places.

On the first gen Moto G, I take screenshots using the power button + the volume down button. It should be the same in the new G as well, do try it out.
