They have better specs (including 4G connectivity) and priced lower since they are only sold online
My neighbour bought the phone. I just helped him set up the basic settings and configuring his apps and email..

If you are interested in the new one then better to wait for market report, especially for the chipset and camera.
Thanks. Will then wait for the next gen Moto X. Lots of new phones coming up in next few months, its exciting but making my decision very hard too.

Who wants to buy an ugly One Plus phone?

Physical home button is a huge put off, and the back somehow looks ugly.

Mid-august or July 23rd?
I heard somewhere that it will be available from tomorrow.
please correct me if I'm wrong.

BTW they should have provided 2GB of RAM.
Why 1.5? I am expecting too much from Samsung. But the j7 seems to be their best sensibly priced phone with decent specs.

Yeah, it is a big thing that Samsung has climbed down from its high ladder finally and decided to play the mid-range-right-price game! Just to irritate some people, it still gives only 1.5Gigs of RAM. Sheesh.

I am eagerly waiting for what they have to offer. Looks and camera are secondary for me. Of course I won't jump right away, but will wait Xioami to release Mi 5, mean time expect next gen nexus to roll-out by then! As of now I am happy with my 4 year old Nexus S.

Wow, one of a very few that keep their phone for a long time! Everytime I buy a phone I commit to keeping it til it dies, but they seem to either be stolen or they die too soon.

Did Google provide updates for the phone? Which version are you on?

I switched to Cyanogen since Gingerbread. I am now on Kitkat and finally Cyanogen stopped support for Nexus S(with cm11) . I do not see why I should be on google provided mechanism. I always found its buggy, no more greater than what Cyanogen provides after ASOP release.

I've never been able to keep any phone that long since the good old Nokia days.

I've been using my Nokia 5230 since 5 years now if that counts!
Still running smooth. Changed the speaker and outer ring.

Well, counts twice! I wouldn't survive a day with a Symbian smartphone.

Thumbs up to anyone that's keeping phones out of the landfill. I wish I had more luck with mine. The only phone I used for a very long time (7 years) was the Sony Ericsson W550i (I loved that phone), but it wasn't a daily driver.

Thanks brother!
Mayn! I loved that SE W550i so much! Especially the ear-phones! And Music Quality! And the "cutting edge" camera with flash! Just the camera's look on that phone was like Whoa!!

BTW, I keep hoarding them phones!

I still have these:
  1. Nokia 2300 (Functioning but needs new battery)
  2. Nokia 5220 XpressMusic Red (Not functioning, needs new battery and body to make it work)
  3. Nokia 5130 XpressMusic Red (The Chipset has shot and hence the phone doesn't last long even with new battery!)
  4. Nokia 5130 XpressMusic Silver (FUntions perfectly but misplaced somewhere in the house, need to scout it ou)
  5. Nokia 2700 Classic (Working like it was bought yesterday)
  6. Nokia 220 Black (Under 1 year old)
  7. Nokia 5230

Now that I've wrote them all down it feels awkward! Nokia should gift me an N1 just for this.
now wondering whether to buy Samsung Glalaxy J7 next or Microsoft (Nokia?!) Lumia 640XL!

Well before Nexus S, it was Nokia 7250 for 8 years! I don't think Nexus S will last that long. Getting 5 years of Android itself great. This also means you won't be utilizing all the features.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Android 4.1.1 has been installed on my Xperia Z3 Compact, so other users who might be expecting it can go for it. The changes are subtle, the icons are much more simpler to guess now and that's a good thing. The same painful double swipe status bar exists, even after the tweaks like added connectivity options for Wi-Fi & Bluetooth. I much preferred the black status bar single swipe to this ridiculous mess in L. Two finger down is nonsense, what next, 3, 4, 5 finger gestures?

Otherwise the Sony phone is brilliant.. its smoother & faster now and it seems the camera has been made faster & more intelligent in the 4.1.1 update. Battery life, no idea if this carries enhancements but as of now I'm getting 3 days with medium use. The hardware is great but Android as an OS is a million tweaks away from perfection.
