Welcome - in all chance the battery would be fully charged! Just drop an email to letsbuy with the battery scan/image/details - they will revert in a few days with the bill with battery number!
Thanks.

But I think while doing the initial setups, I goofed up somewhere. Most probably becuase I chose to format the sd card that came with it.
The phone does start now, but I am not getting past the initial screen that shows the date and time. I am getting a symbol with an unlock item on the left and a hand on the right pointing to it. I remember searching for updates during setup as the last item when things were fine.
I do see 3 updates now on the top menu, but am not getting anywhere. I had also setup my gmail account and it gave a message that it was done.

None of the buttons are taking me anywhere. Any clues?

That is weird - sounds like your user data got deleted by some reason. You need to send us a screenshot or just delete user data and restart in the worst case.

PS: synced your contacts from the old phone, right?

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

My apologies---shows how much a novice I am to touch phones. My son solved the problem in a jiffy. All that was needed was to drag the unlock icon to the extreme right

Meanwhile, I do see gmail working fine, and a helluva lot of contacts imported from gmail. I've not yet imported the contacts from the sim card, as I plan to put it back in my old phone and copy all contacts from the phone memory into the sim first, and then put the sim in the Defy to import those.

I wonder why maps and latitudes are not working with a 'network error' message, when gmail is working fine.

Hi buddy, I've been running Fast5 from gameloft of my HTC HD2 for the past week or so. The game app works remarkably well and haven't had any issues till date. The game app is 22mb after installation and the data folder is approx 450-500 MB.
Localing the game for obvious reasons (read size) is a bit slow but afterwards is great.
Cheers

I know even BB allows to configure more than one account.

Is there a similar app for Android?

@technocrat - did you mean to see all the mail in one inbox? otherwise android 2.2 onwards allows you to configure upto 10 gmail addresses on your phone

It's the official app from Yahoo.
There are two apps actually, one for mail and other for entertainment, searches, etc.
Install the Mail app.
I am loving it. You can add multiple accounts. Also it's very close to the actual Yahoo mail on the web . Same smiley's option as on the web mail.
Though a bit of a memory hog, but a good app and can't move to SD card.
This will help me keep my Yahoo account clean of Spams, otherwise I hardly used to login.
You guys would also like it.

I have been using it from quite sometime on my Galaxy S. Initially it was very buggy (starting with Eclairs). Nothing much changed in Froyo as well. But on Gingerbread, it finally works well without any FC'ing and its fast too unlike on the previous firmwares.

any Tango users ? This works across both iOS and Android, and I found the voice and video quality to be of very good quality.

for starters, this is Voice+Video over IP app, for mobile-to-mobile calling.

Its very simple. Save the contacts from the previous phone to a CSV file. upload into your gmail. Solved

A short review on the Samsung Galaxy s2

Look and feel - If you have used Galaxy S and felt it was light, S2 is even more lighter and bigger. And Galaxy S which my wife has feels very heavy now. But the phone feels better for bigger hands. For small hands it felt a bit uneasy.

Screen - The screen is a little brighter and crisper than the original galaxy.

Speed - There is nothing that slows down this phone. From having few dozen applications open and still opening a web page or camera takes less than a second. As advertised the phone is the fastest we have seen.

Voice clarity - Nothing to worry about here. Its good as it was with galaxy S as well.

Video playback - Plays every damn file you throw at it. Even the older galaxy failed to open some files. And the speed at which the device opens these files is just amazing. One need not wait to load a video and watch. Its all instantaneous.

More will update as i use the phone more.

My defy too now on the latest rc0! Faced a few jitters before the rc0 could load up properly, I Faced the issue of white triangle with exclamation mark, multiple reboots somehow solved the issue.

Cant tell much difference, overall its nice.

Iam still to find an tethering app which does full infrastructure mode!

Hey Pranxter, I am on Froyo and the app has been working well, no FC issues at all. I disabled the push notification from both my yahoo accounts so it's not hogging much of memory now. May be the app must be evolving when you installed it first but now it looks fairly stable.
