Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Can we expect the prices of the S2 to drop once the S3 Mini launches in India ?? S2 currently costs 26k here in Mumbai & the below article has given an estimated price of 28k for the S3 Mini.

It is available on Homeshop18 for about 21 k on superdeals. I dont think you can get it for lower than that very soon. 20k could be the minimum limit

EDIT: Putting in system information if it helps

System Version: 45.0.2310.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03
Android - 2.3.6
Kernel - 2.6.32.9
Build Number - 4.5.1-134_DFP-231
1. Root using this method -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1542956
(FYI - There is NO other method to root BL7 Defy+)

2. The most stable, fast and battery friendly ROM is WajkIUI (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1161110). Even within that, 2.5.27 is best. Just follow the steps properly and ensure you have the correct version (2.3) 2nd Init and remember to set it as default boot

3. If you are feeling experimentative, or want to have a JB powered phone to show off ;-) here you go

I have rooted the phone already thanks.

Have installed 2ndinit 1.4.2 as mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1161110 for the GB and ICS version.

You are suggesting a different version here, what is it that I'm doing wrong?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Noob question. I need some help with wi-fi connections. So, I bought myself a wi-fi router and connected the phone to network. Everything worked fine. Now, when I restart either (comp or phone), the phone detects the wifi connection and gets connected. However, there is no data transfer- I cant use the net. Somebody please help.

Moto Atrix2 on stock Ginger bread.

Using the WPA/WPA2 security type.

This happens with hathway connections. You need to login to the ISP server everytime you start the wifi. Try this: open the ISP's login page on your pc and after logging in you can use the internet properly. This used to happen with me.

Btw guys I need your help. I backed up all my data to the google server and now I did a factory reset. Now how do I restore all the data? Like contacts, apps etc.

I have not tried the way you have mentioned to backup my data. There is an app called Go Backup pro. It is free on playstore. I use this application to backup my data. It is an awesome app and works wonderfully.

1. Am I rooted? I could be, if I knew what it means, how to do it and how would this help.
2. Download the ICS through ODIN. Sounds like a plan. What is ODIN?

Little help
Dont think you are rooted. Head to XDA forums and you will get all info on what needs to be done.

Yes whenever I switch on the WiFi the web browser redirects me to the login page and after that my internet works. I just have to login to my hathway account. This is for security.

Maybe there is a similar login system for bsnl too.
