re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2016. EDIT: It's the Tata Tiago!

So, as of now, the Tiago is leading with a factor of 2 if compared to the second contestant. Exactly double the votes and of course a big chance to win, until some miracle happens.
Tata motors guys have put their heart and soul while making this car, they deserve to get paid off.

Voted for the Tiago. The car has been an important break for the struggling PV business of Tata Motors and has managed to succeed in a cluttered and highly competitive segment. A VFM and class product that shows respect for Indian entry level vehicle buyers.

Has to be Brezza.

All round package and value for money.

Rightly said by many to be the Common Man's Car.

The number of bookings says it all.

Maruti after sales.

Looks and styling.

Reliable and proven Engine of the Nation with brilliant balance of Power and Mileage.

Voted for the Ford Endeavour!
It's an extremely well rounded package and now that the Fortuner has been launched at a higher price tag even though it's short on equipment as compared to the Ford, the Endeavour feels like a good value proposition.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2016. EDIT: It's the Tata Tiago!

Voted for Tiago.

For beautiful looks (I like clean and elegant designs), decent-ish engine options, and super VFM.

But, this year, unlike some previous years, it was tough call - because of super competent cars. Some of the previous years (2013 - Ecosport' 2015 - Kwid) have been much easier decisions for me. I voted for the sheer fact that Tiago has single-handedly put TATA firmly back in the game. TATA, after recent flops (Bolt and its twin brother - cars that I found somewhat mediocre, but were generally applauded by the public), was in absolute shambles. And deservedly so..

After years of producing substandard quality passenger cars, with uninspiring designs, mediocre engines, and shoddy A.S.S -it had become synonymous with low-rent cars. So, TATA just desperately needed this to succeed. And it has. Now, it has an opportunity to build on this success.

That said, I equally loved the Ford Endeavour. Butch styling, tough as nails, stonker of an engine (3.2), and great VFM. Just the way I like it. I'll serious consider adding it to Jetta if we were to change my wifey's Ecosport in the recent future.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2016. EDIT: It's the Tata Tiago!

With TATA Tiago garnering the most number of votes, I can again see a TATA car to be the Team-BHP car of the year.

If I recall correctly, TATA has won it before for Nano and then again for Zest but these products did not translate into success stories. At the same time, Tiago is changing this perception with average sales of around 5-6,000 units and constantly increasing. I also presume Hexa to be one of the strong contenders for Team-BHP car of the year 2017 award.

All this is a result of the hard work TATA folks are putting in and I just wish the best for them in terms of market perception, sales, and revenues.

Ford Endeavor it is for me.

My rule is simple. The most perfect car for the engineering as well as price. None other car qualifies for this in 2016 launches.

Tata tiago would share the podium but still finish second.

Yes it is. But according to VW India, this is a new car called Volkswagen GTI . They have never mentioned the word Polo anywhere .

Voted for the TATA Tiago.

What a comeback by Tata. A Really VFM product with quality that can give the likes of Hyundai some good competition. Kudos Tata for all the effort and it shows. Please keep up the quality and launch some good offerings in all the other segments too.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2016. EDIT: It's the Tata Tiago!

Voted for the Vitara Brezza.

Primary reason was the game changer Maruti brought at such a value for money price tag. This had even forced Ford to bring prices down for the Ecosport by about a Lakh. Given the high prices and increases every year, This takes my vote

Tiago.

TML had a lot riding on this little thing. Reminds me of a dialogue from the movie Seabiscuit - "sometimes when the little guy doesn't know he's a little guy, he can do great big things"

So very true. Tiago is indeed landing punches above it weight and might one day find its place beside Indica in history books for turning the fortunes around of Tata Motors.

Just hope Tata capitalises on this position and finds back its lost glory!

Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2016

Not only that, only 99 of them would be sold in India and its a CBU but still made it to the Poll. Really surprising.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2016. EDIT: It's the Tata Tiago!

Dear BHPians, in the years gone by we have voted for the following cars as our COTY nomination - Renault Kwid (2015); Tata Zest (2014); Ford Ecosport (2013); Renault Duster (2012); XUV500 (2011); Ford Figo (2010) and the Tata Nano (2009). Remember this was our collective choice. All very interesting choices and some were selections that did very well indeed. Each was a choice that had something unique to offer in that time period. I cant help but notice two Renault's, two Tata's and Two Ford's - not making a judgment simply stating an observation. With the benefit of hindsight what would we say about our selections.
