re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

Interestingly, now a days blue is the favorite colour for all.
Today, I saw a brand new (outgoing model) blue ecosport but did not like much. New blue colour ecosport in photos is looking much better.
Not sure, if there is some change in shade or in real, blue color ecosport does not look good?

re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

Now this one of the few facelifts that seems to have addressed a lot of shortcomings of the previous model. Everything about the new Ecosport seems to be receiving praises and I personally feel Ford has done an awesome job. Love the new interiors and exterior. The Ecosport now is better than the Brezza in many aspects.

re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

This is a cracking update from Ford. As a current Ecoboost owner, I think I just got hit by a drop in the resale value of my car.
Also,I am waiting for a review on the projector headlamps. Current headlight setup is really not effective. If its any good, will it be possible to plug and play the new setup into the older Ecosports?

Makes me believe only the Titanium S is going to get this MID. Your thoughts?
Bumping this post I made a few pages back as I see the MID discussion is still on, and rightly so. As RavenAvi said, this is the place your eyes mostly go to apart from the roads ahead.

My question is, can this be the Titanium S variant? As you can clearly see in the pictures, the MID here looks like the bigger color MID, same as the Brazilian model.

Yes, you're might be right. The color MID might be reserved for the Range Topping Ecosport Titanium S variant. But, a question arises here,

If Ford isn't offering that S version at launch, how come we see one at the Dealer yard ? Also, Regular variants have All Black cabin, while we did see Black with Orange elements which is rumoured to be the S variant.

Did anyone notice the good MID is there in the car SVP is reviewing in the Facebook live video? Maybe only titanium plus getting the good MID and all others will have the shameful one.

Features like rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and rear-view camera are only available on the Titanium+ trim, while engine start/stop button and Smart Entry is offered on both Titanium variants. All variants get automatic climate control except for the base variant. Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+ variants get power folding ORVMs and height adjustable driver’s seat.

As far as safety features are concerned, ABS with EBD and driver and passenger side airbags are standard across the range. Rear parking sensors and high-speed warning is available on Titanium and Titanium+ versions, while EBA (Emergency Brake Assist), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), traction control, hill launch assist, ISOFIX child safety seat mounting points, cruise control with speed limiter and side and curtain airbags are only offered the Titanium+ variant.

Was just watching the overdrive video mentioned below and I noted there was no mention of "+" besides the Titanium model plate at the back, although the model was a Titanium+ Auto, as shown later on in the video. No mention of "Automatic" anywhere at the back as well.

Is that a normal practice for ford? May be those who have bought an ES in the past can chime in?

On a side note, the video mentions Ford is claiming 17 km/l for the automatic petrol. Does that fall in the same range as the existing auto?

MotorOctane video at 3:47 mark shows the headlight color as yellow, which is a disappointment. Can you guys check it out too and reaffirm my fears?

Absolutely. The instrument cluster is uninteresting and the MID is just terrible. Even with the reduced size (vs. the Intl. model), they could have gone for something that was sharper and had better contrast. Ford must immediately address this, at least in the higher trims.

Just look at the Nexon's display, for reference.

In fact I checked the video a couple of times and I don't see any difference there - it seems to be the same misfitting MID there.

re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

Ford has definitely worked on EcoSport and now it is at par with competition and even exceeds in few aspects. The steering wheel (Titanium+) looks drool worthy with lots of buttons and controls.

- Not compromising with safety is something that has been made clear, even the entry level trim is good to go if someone is running on a tight budget.
- What happened to Turbo petrol? Has it been discontinued for the India lineup? I have driven it and it was a lovely engine beyond 1900 - 2000 rpm (turbo kicking in!) I would have loved to see Turbo with DCT to compete with VW lineup Alas !
- Why some of the safety features are limited to DCT / Auto trim only is something beyond my understanding?
- Ford also produces AWD EcoSport for export and even that is missing, they could have launched it at appropriate price point, though niche, there would have been no competition to AWD version.

Give us a good price Ford ! And most certainly - priority delivery to Indian customers if the price is mouthwatering followed with large bookings.

All the best !

This is great – finally you can get a MT Ecosport with all the safety features and an AT with leather seats – these were mutually exclusive in the previous avatar.

re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

First drive reviews are coming out:

Overdrive says about the Petrol auto "Being naturally aspirated the engine is quick to respond to throttle inputs. The gearbox isn’t as quick as a twin clutch unit but feels adept at handling transmission duties. It makes light of city driving and gear changes are effected in a smooth, seamless manner. The EcoSport also gets paddle shifters, a segment first. The paddles work well though there is a slight delay before the gearbox shifts a gear when using the paddles. Claimed efficiency for the new petrol engine stands at 17kmpl"

http://overdrive.in/reviews/2018-for...-drive-review/

NDTV car & bike about the Petrol " The engine is reasonably well mated to the auto box but you will find that it takes a while to get going. The new automatic is smooth and the gear changes are very quick, except for the shift from 1st to 2nd on the paddle shift strangely enough - which has a weird lag from when you hit the paddle to when the gear actually engages. The petrol automatic will do very well in city traffic though as gears hold and there aren't frequent downshifts. It's only when you try and push it hard that it's going seem wanting. But as you cross 2000 rpm the engine seems to come alive - and so makes for easy cruising at higher speeds. And more so when you switch the transmission to S or sport mode. While it's not as sporty as is have liked it certainly gets more responsive, though the tinny nature of the 3 cylinder starts to be heard more often than not as gear ratios gets longer. In fact in sport you can push the engine to 7000 rpm and effect quick overtakes and acceleration"

# Side and curtain airbags
# ESP
