I am having real bad time with amaron and the guys there are testing my patience,.
Amaron anytime response number fails to respond from the last three days, they don't bother to pick up the call or reply to sms.
whats happening with then, are they going down ?
The two service and replacement places i knew and bought the battery from have closed down.

Its too far place for me to come but i didn't expect this kind of support from them. my ar is stuck in parking, now will have to request neighbors for a jump start.
i think will dump the pro rate offer and buy some other brand now.

^^^ Why don't you call Bat Mobile? The brand of your battery does not matter...

Also, why not try calling Amaron's head office and complain to somebody from the Management?

[quote=Raccoon;1504510]I too have no idea what arrangement they have with Panasonic... but you could forget about Panasonic and go for the Base Terminal labelled batteries! As I said they carry a 50 month (total) warranty whereas it is lower for Panasonic. Btw, my bike battery is labeled Base Terminal, and not Panasonic.

The panasonic batteries are imported .. period . Bike /inverter /tractor/ batt are made by base terminal and they have a factory at himachal . The himachal factory is a state of the art factory and they have the same machines which amaron or exide have for manufacturing batt .

As for it being a Jap battery, the dealer said the Panasonic labeled batteries are made in Thiland and Base Terminal is made in India. This is what the dealer said (I can't vouch for it). Others in this thread have claimed that Base Terminal is made in China. Anyway, whats more important is the quality, price and the warranty duration. In that, they are attractive.

Compared to all the batteries I find that Base terminal has the best price/quality /warranty and I can vouch . I normally use the lower price as a factor to buy a higher AMP batt and I feel much more satisifed at buying a 45 AH batt for 2,900 rather than spnd 2,900 and by a 32 AH batt from Amaron , Tata , Tafe or Exide .

The advantage of buying higher capacity batt is that a higher batt can generate more cranking amps and this does not strain the batt much compared to the regular OE batt .

Tafe? I'm not sure you should be comparing those with the prices of Amaron/Exide/Tata. They are the most inexpensive of the lot. Even cheaper than Base Terminal. I would be skeptical about their quality because they are from the Amco group. And Amco seems to make real crappy batteries as of now.

TAFE used to make good batteries . They were in a partnership with yuasa earlier . The quality levels have gone down for sure .. but atleast here in chennai the batt pricing is much above the base terminal ones .

I dont want to try batmobile, will go for tata green basic model and see this time.

Meanwhile amaron service is nothing but horrible.
Nobody picks up both their hotline numbers.
No reply for the emails to company., and all these days i have been carrying around their numbers in phone thinking they will fly and come to rescue their customers when in need.

Tried their number (1800 42 54848). Indeed nobody is taking calls! Real sad show there by Amara Raja! But I still would not touch an Exide. I'd prefer bad service and a good battery rather than a bad battery and good service.

Does BOSCH have a similar helpline?

Base Terminal/Panasonic do have it. Anybody has any idea how good it is?

Once I had dialled Amaron's Tool free No. for an enquiry. They were very helpful and provided the needful !

Don't know about Bosch or others !

May be its a once upon a time story now or they don't like me claiming pro-rate warranty.
Both numbers 18004254848 and 09840954848 are not responding.
I hope to find bosch silver, else tata green.

Thanks for the help but just now i came back home after exchanging it for a bosch silver for 2800.

The shop i went to did have an amaron hilife pro in stock but i was getting only 900 of the old battery as per pro rate terms as i have done 3 years and 4 months.

Another condition is i can only exchange it for a hi life pro and not any other model from amaron. the price of new battery still works out more than what i bought it for three years back. So i guess it all marketing funda and nothing else

Got 500 off by exchanging it for bosch silver with 18 months flat warranty.

The shop guy did try his best to sell me Exide or Sonic. He had lots of them ready!
Tata green was nowhere to be found, might have to go to tata showrooms only i guess.

Why don't you please contact your company to ask why they have a helpline number which is useless?

Gigy, do BOSCH have a similar helpline number? And does it work? Also, BOSCH batteries are also supposed to be made by Amara Raja... so in effect you have bought another Amaron anyway!
