Re: The Zen Modifications Thread

The problem with this, although it looks fantastic, is that it makes the wheel look smaller.. Get the Esteem wheels and paint them in the same way.

Re: The Zen Modifications Thread

^^ It does, but the tyres are quite new and upsizing will mean getting new tyres as well. (No Vit M right now) !
On another note, is it possible to chrome plate the silver part ? That should make it look killer...

Re: The Zen Modifications Thread

@ fiat_tarun : Please get the window panes painted or sticker matte black and smoke those tail lamps. Im sure this will enhance the looks of your car.

On Cyrus's suggestion regarding the wheels, you should get the second ring on the inner side painted to matte black too. That way the wheels might not look as small as they seem now.

A quick PS job

Re: The Zen Modifications Thread

You can even go for a red lip finish. But red lip should be thinner than the silver lip.

Re: The Zen Modifications Thread

^^ The red looks good, but i think the silver looks better. Instead of painting, how would sticking reflective tape look ? This way if i don't like it i can always remove it.

Re: The Zen Modifications Thread

I will be giving my Zen for service this week. From past 2 service, im unable to convince the service guy that the brakes are soft. I never feel the "THUD-Stop" like swift, etc.

I really want to get my brakes much better. I think of 3 options:

1) Get current setup checked in detail to fix all issues and see if it helps
2) Use non MGP parts like, rear brake pads, front disc pads to see improved braking (Rane, KBX, etc)
3) Selectively Upgrade to Esteem brake parts

Please suggest me tips on these 3 points.

Im sure there will be many people in this forum looking for this info.

Experienced guys, please share info.

Re: The Zen Modifications Thread

Hey Guys,

Have decided to go in for alloys for my Zen. Going ahead with 12" as my current tyres are quite new, besides budget constraints !

Only Neo & Plati have 12" alloys and i liked a Plati design.

The dealer near my place has quoted 10.5k for 4 alloys. Is this a good price? How much can i bargain for?

Have done a PS job to see how the alloys will look.

Next plan is to get the roof white and give the car a mini look !! Is white stickering possible ?

Something like this? May be without the bonnet stripes.

1. Change seats to Sparco, have a pair with friend
2. Change side panel fabric, but most upholstery guys in Hyd dont seem confident of doing a decent job, Any advice would help
3. Change from std spark plugs to iridium
4. K&N filter already in
5. Change engine oil, Total Quartz of Shell Helix
6. How do I get rid of internal plastic rattles (Dont advice stripping them off)

Hi, you can use foam (fabric) to stop the internal plastic rattles in your car, i have done the same thing...any local workshop can do that..

Re: The Zen Modifications Thread

Though this may not strictly qualify as a "mod", I just wanted to know if cutting off the exhaust tailpipe which juts out from under the bumper will result in any kind of change, other than cosmetic. Pros and cons?
